Match thread on 16:58 - Oct 22 with 2361 views | 442Dale | Recent form suggests we may be better leaving Henderson out of the starting line-up. Obviously only going off a radio commentary, would be interested to hear from those there. Defensively not so sure today either, according to the elder Eyre. Let's see what the travelling fans think.

Why - because we lost an away game? The key is how we react next week v Oldham - I expect a reaction.

Aye. They didn't cover themselves in glory today either though, so it'll be interesting to see how we start the game next week.

Totally! We weren't a great side winning 6 in a row and we aren't a bad side losing 2. It is what it is. Bring on Oldham!

Hendo poor today, he needs time on the sidelines but it won't happen.

We were moving the ball so well through the midfield and channels until Hendo's return from injury. Cannon was on fire, but was dropped. Suddenly, the ball started getting held up. Davies' performances dropped when the rapid service stopped. All decisions have consequences.

Match thread on 17:25 - Oct 22 with 1910 views | Shun | That was frustrating. It reminded me of early in the season when we were dominating matches but losing because of our toothlessness. The same again today. Coventry were awful, I haven't seen a less ambitious side since Crawley at home a few years ago - in the second half today I think the ball only came into our half three times. For all our possession though we didn't test their keeper anywhere near as much as we should have. Henderson missed quite a few good chances and he surely needs to be dropped soon. McDermott continued his terrible season - he can glide past a player so easily but his final ball is up there with some of the worst I've ever seen from a Dale forward. Canavan made a mistake for the first goal.
Match thread on 17:25 - Oct 22 with 1907 views | 1907 | We're a midtable side so we're going to win some and we're going to lose some. My personal mix up of personnel would be to drop Lund deeper and try and push Camps forward or give Donal a run. I really don't like Canps playing that holding "Allen" role, he's too slow. Henderson is no longer an automatic starter either. We've scored more goals without him in the side than in it. Davies, Andrew & NML next week please.

Henderson's presence is over-complicating things a bit. It's hard to explain exactly why, but we are more basic in terms of how we play without him. However, if NML isn't fully fit then it could be why Henderson is starting again.

Without stating the bl@@ding obvious, we were F12 A3 during the 6 game win streak and F0 A5 in the last 2 games. Need to get back to a stingy defense and putting more chances away

Yes, it is difficult to explain why, especially without sounding like it's making Hendo a scapegoat (on my part, not yours) but it's something to do with pace, also to do with the others maybe feeling they've got to play through Hendo instead of just picking out the best man available The point about NML's fitness is also a good one, but they're such different types of player that replacing NML's pace has to be the priority when he's not available or fit enough to start
