Bionic Dale Player 15:25 - Oct 11 with 8685 viewsAtThePeake

Came across this article on the Gloucestershire live site after reading the link on DDB's thread about Trevor Kettle: http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/we-re-building-a-bionic-robin-the-best-comp

Thought it would be a good idea for a thread on here about a Dale player. Categories are:

Best left foot
Best right foot
Paciest
Biggest heart
Best brain
Best header
Most vision
Best finisher
Best technique
Greatest leader

Which ten players would make up your bionic Dale player?

I'm 17 and therefore only been watching Dale since 2004 so:
Left foot - Tom Kennedy (especially in his first spell)
Right foot - Lee McEvilly? He had the hardest shot I've ever seen. Obviously Rickie's up there as well.
Paciest - 100% Scott Hogan, those defences didn't stand a chance in 2013/14
Biggest heart - Grant Holt or Conrad Logan; both always gave everything for the cause and you can tell they love their job
Best brain - Jamie Allen stands out for me
Best header - Craig Dawson or Calvin Andrew, never seen a target man win so many headers
Most vision - Probably again Jamie Allen, although Callum Camps can do the most exceptional through balls
Best finisher - Wow. Dagnall? Le Fondre? Rickie? O'Grady? I'd probably say Chris O'Grady
Best technique - I never saw Paddy McCourt (or don't remember doing) so I'll say Donal McDermott, his ability with a football at his feet is the best I've ever seen at Dale
Greatest leader - only one. Gary Jones.

While I can't believe I'm mentioning him in the "best of" - Donnelly was quick too

Alex Russell had a cracking left foot

I'll be honest I thought it was left but wasn't 100%. Googled it and it said he was right footed. I remember him playing in every position in midfield but normally in the middle.

I'll change to:
Left foot - Alex Russell
Right Foot - Rickie Lambert

Steve Taylor was in my opinion the best finisher, but also over a very short distance lighting quick, i.e. In the six yard box, or penalty area, however Thommo was very fast down the wing.

Best left foot Paul Simpson
Best right foot Ricky Lambert
Paciest Dave Thompson
Biggest heart Sean Reid
Best brain Tony Ellis
Best header Craig Dawson
Most vision Dave Frain
Best finisher Steve Taylor
Best technique Paddy
Greatest leader Jon Bowden

Glad someone agrees with me about Thommo I was only young but remember him in both spells and he stood out purely because of his pace it was ridiculous how fast he was when he got going!

Surely there must be an old timer like me,putting forward Reg Jenkins for best whichever foot you choose to mention. His shooting power was something else again

Sometimes he was like a "headless chicken", but yes he was fast, normall relying purely on his pace rather than skill to skin the opposition, but often not producing anything. But yes, he was fast.
