And it confirms in the season I was talking about that the average was nowhere near 14,000 that you alluded to and only got to that level in the promotion season. Like it or lump it the fact is that QPR are in a multi-billion pound industry which is vying for every bit of support. We are in an area where by not only have we got to convince people to follow us and not the scum or even Fulham, but also against the likes of ManUre and Liverpool but also other London teams like Spurs and Arsenal. Trying to find a level between the Championhsip and League One will lead to disaster for the club.

Is it not true that MOST attendances during the third division were higher than SOME we had in the top division during the 80's & 90's? It was not uncommon for us to drop to 8,000 on occasions as a top flight club. Without looking it up, I'm sure we averaged more than 10,000 every season in the third tier. Not that this makes any difference as to whether we could attract bigger crowds on a regular basis. Even the Jago & Sexton sides struggled to average over 20,000 & the Venables team were quite often below the 10 mark! IMO we don't compete with Fulham for a lot of support, but with all of the London teamsnorth of the Thames, the top Premier sides, Watford, the b******s from Wy****e, Reading & many a non league side. This is because outside of the very local area, our support is based around the A40 corridor, Chilterns & Thames Valley. All of the above mentioned clubs attract support from this area.
