Neil Taylor on 18:12 - Oct 4 by shandyjack | He has been dreadful this season, defending for the first goal was dreadful |
Defending for first goal?? He held his position and made it difficult for the winger to get his cross in! The goal they scored was a fluke!!

Neil Taylor on 18:15 - Oct 4 by QuakerJack | Yeah, you're mental buddy, he's awful, Jazz is a better full back.... Taylor looks conference standard, the first goal that cross should never have come in. The second, I've had hookers tighter than he got to Ameobi, out of position and when he got back into position he started running away from the ball towards goal and must have had a rocket from ash before he started running towards the ball, by then it was too late. |
You are talking shit!!! Positionally he was fine and he held is ground...the cross and the goal was a complete fluke! Conference standard, this coming from the expert is it?!?!

Neil Taylor on 17:10 - Oct 5 by SuperSwan | FFS the guy's hardly played for 2 seasons...give it a few months and he should be back to his best! So who do you suggest we put in Tiendalli, lol. The first goal they scored was a fluke and the 2nd was caused by Fernandez schoolboy defending. And if anyone is costing us games at the moment it is Shelvey! |
'Give it a few months and he should be back to his best' This isn't pre-season. Every match we play is competitive. Him putting in dire performances each week is costing us points, points which at the end of the season will be the difference between a couple of league places, league places which could mean the difference between a top or bottom half finish, finishing above or below 17th or maybe even pushing for the top 7 considering how poor Everton look. Dwight Tiendali is a consistent performer and puts in average but solid performances everytime he plays. He deserves to be starting ahead of Taylor who is putting in weak performances every week and is currently a huge liability.

I've watched the both goals.. Taylor failed to stop the cross (not just once).. it was a fantastic finish from Cisse.. maybe fabianksi should've done better.. but Taylor give him time and space to find a cross. The 2nd.. Taylor was out of position.. Fernandez put his heart and soul into a stupid challenge to cover.. Taylor and Ki failed to stop the cross.. and Ashley was busy watching it all unfold until Cisse taps it in.. It was poor defending on both goals.. the 2nd was calamitous.. and as a defender Monk should hate that.

No, he really didn't. His first instinct was to cover for Fernandez, who was trying to dig him out of a hole, but it was with the benefit of hindsight, the wrong choice, Can understand why he did it but we had enough players back to stop that second goal, we just ferked it up, but no one person was to blame. 'll say again though, I've spent a fair bit of time this season shouting 'where the f*ck is our left back'. he's not what he was yet for certain. [Post edited 5 Oct 2014 17:30]

agree both goals came from his side, you have to stop the cross coming in PERIOD, he didn't
Neil Taylor on 21:41 - Oct 5 with 2044 views | Joe_bradshaw | Obertan caused problems all game. Compare that with Dyer who was clearly earmarked as a danger by Pardew and who had two on him at all times. Without his usual mate behind him to help Nathan was marked out of the game.

It was a fluke because he fell as he crossed the ball which meant the ball went into an area that it wasn't supposed to!!

The first goal was a fluke because he fell as he crossed the ball which meant the ball went into an area that it wasn't supposed to!! Yeah maybe Taylor could have done better but the abuse he is getting is ridiculous!! The second one was due to Shelvey losing the ball on the left wing and Taylor was out of position because he was supporting the attack....Fernandez covered but did it poorly....it was errors from several players... but if we were an error free side we would be top of league wouldn't we!!!

Honestly mate, you need to watch it again, he's a left back and wasn't even within five yards of Ameobi from crossing the ball for the second, you had Fernández out on the left trying to make a slide tackle to cover Taylor, that's out of position. First goal. Obertan is stood still, at worst he forces him to cross with his weaker foot. He stood him up as if to say, you're going nowhere, yet obertan managed to cross the ball on his stronger foot with little room to manoeuvre.

Neil Taylor on 17:19 - Oct 7 with 1790 views | A_Fans_Dad | Of course it wasn't all Taylor's fault as both times Ash couldn't get in the right place to stop Cisse, but then Cisse is classy. He also scored 2 against Hull but only managed 4 the whole of last season. But his Newcastle record is pretty good with 27 from 94 appearances.

Full backs don't often stop crosses. No need to blame Taylor, look at the marking in the box
