The Who - 1975 or 1976 - Wembley Arena The Clash - 1980 Electric Ballroom The Pogues -- dunno when it was but Jock Stein had just died and half the crowd seemed to be singing about him, which was weird. Queen at Live Aid - saved the day Oasis - Maine Road around 1995/96 Arctic Monkeys - Earls Court last year.

Planxty reunion gig in Glór, Ennis. 2004. First gigs in over twenty years from the greatest Irish trad band ever. It was like the Second Coming, the atmosphere was other-worldly, as was the music.
Close Contender:- Stone Roses in the Ally Pally, their first gig in the South. There was about fifty coaches from Manchester, hardly a Southerner in the place, and I may well have been the only lad not on something. The Roses were decent, no more, but the atmosphere was incredible. It was before their album was released, before even a single was released, and clearly the start of something huge.
"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."
Only been to 3, had front row at wembley arena for UB40 on their rat in me kitchen tour 1986 Whams farewell ( ex girlfriend was a fan honest) loads of top stars of the day performed as well so was actually quite good. And went to see U2 at wembley stadium on their Joshua tree tour at wembley in 1988 and got totally wasted, threw up on some blokes foot and got kicked out just as the Pogues were starting their support act, was home in bed before Bono even took to the stage.

Coupla Pogues gigs I've been to have been pretty bloody enjoyable. Much smaller but dedicated crowd to watch Random Hand though, a fúcking amazing band and playing the Underworld in November - can't wait!
QPR - "shit but local"

2010 - Sufjan Stevens in the auditorium at Primavera Barcelona. Absolutely mind melting show with lasers, projections, angel wings, syncronised dancing an orchestra and a stage invasion. Everyone came out of there in a state of euphoria
2008 - Holy F**k - The Breeders ATP. In the magic 1am to 2am slot they smashed the place apart, possibly the sweatiest I've ever been dancing at a show. Was sensational
The 2009 Glastonbury Holy Trinity: Neil Young, Brooooooce and Blur. No festival headline set will ever get close
Metallica at Reading in 03? I think
Anytime I've seen Mogwai. Possibly Primavera Porto this year as they were so frigging loud it was amazing
The National - Electric Ballroom 09 just before High Violet came out. On the brink of their long deserved success a huge greatest hits set
Brand New at The Roundhouse a few years ago.
My Bloody Valentine at the Roundhouse - almost sent me deaf
Jeff Mangum - Casa de Musica in Porto. Him solo was even better than seeing the full Neutral Milk Hotel. Never dreamed it would ever happen. During the songs everyone sat in reverential silence before exploding when he finished

Portishead in the Acoustic Tent at Glastonbury 1995 (I think) was outstanding.
I was on my own somehow and they just blew me away. This was after the crowd heckled Evan Dando from the Lemonheads off the stage as he was put on before them due to getting to the festival late. It was a bit OTT, but their eventual appearance was greeted with more gusto because of it.
Charles Bradley at XOYO last year was pretty special. Good tight venue, it was like seeing one of the soul legends.
