Keith knows he's up against it this season, and he's making it clear to all that will listen. It's what he does. I seem to recall in his interview prior to opening day, he suggested relegation wouldn't necessarily be deemed failure. It's this attitude that rubbed the Barnsley supporters up the wrong way from day one. At the time, I quite liked it. I found it refreshing to hear a manager saying it how it is. But it becomes just a tired excuse when you're always losing and he's repeating it endlessly.
The transparency is there though, regards his persona. Because he's a different kettle of fish in triumph. He's jovial, arrogant and just the most interesting manager I've ever known. I just wish that in adversity, he'd retain that same exuberance and carefree attitude. But he dunt. He whinges, makes excuses, blames anyone/anything but himself and becomes stubborn in everything he does.
You lot haven't witnessed/lived through a Keith Hill side that loses every week, playing awful football and having to listen to his depressive interviews where as I say, it's never his fault and he finds no end of things to whinge about (more often than not, you, the supporters paying out of your arses to follow his team around the country).
I referred to this on our forum last night. That it's going to be very interesting seeing how you react to a Keith Hill who's losing/moaning every week. You've only seen the good Keith (in terms of results etc). I hope you don't have to see the bad.
We're blessed (those that love him) to have seen our managerial hero in both ultimate achievement, and total failure. He was no different. Danny is Danny, in defeat and victory. That's why he's my favourite ever manager.
I still think you're just a replacement for Hogan away from being competitive. I have no idea (other than the obvious) why he's signed TK and Dawson. Lads on the decline. But they 'should' be decent often enough in this division to make a positive contribution. However, I can only assume Keith is being very picky in terms of recruiting an exciting forward, because you're crying out for a different outlet.
I'd suggest a number of young lads here at Oakwell to take on loan, but the thing is, I'm enjoying them getting game time with us. Young James Bree is just 16 years old, but like John Stones before him, he looks too good to be that young and if he's not a Prem player by 2016 I'll change my name to Leo Bertos...

Runs his own 'soccer' school back in Trinidad. He was doing the whole 'Ronaldo' showboating thing before Ronaldo could even walk. His career fell off a cliff almost as fast as it came to prominence. 96 to 98, unreal little player. Before/after that, Leo Bertos.
