Brentford Encourage Their Fans To Come To Southampton On Thursday Night
Monday, 17th Aug 2015 19:32

Most people will know that FC Midtjylland share a joint owner with Brentford and now the Bee's are selling tickets for the away end at St Mary's on Thursday evening.

Brenford and FC Midtjylland share a joint owner in Matthew Benham as well as several executives being on the board of both clubs, there is of course a very big link between the two.

Now Brentford are encouraging their supporters to pop down the M3 to Southampton on Thursday night and support the Danish club by selling tickets for the away section at St Mary's .

It seems there won't be many actual Danes in attendance on Thursday, they appear to have taken a minimal allocation and seem to be struggling to sell many of those and now they are looking to their sister club in West London to help their cause.

Tickets are on sale at the ticket office at Griffin park as well as on line and there are no restrictions as to who can buy them, they seem to have stopped short of running transport to the game but they are encouraging the Brentford faithful to support FC Midtjylland and get a taster of what they hope the future holds for the London club.

And why not , it was only a little over4 years ago that Saints were visiting Griffin Park in a League One encounter and Brentford having a similar sze ground and fanbase to AFC Bournemouth could well emulate the Cherries and reach the Premier League.

It's a massive journey for Mitjylland, so if this fills their end and creates an atmosphere then great. I've seen they have sold a few coaches and looked into using their travel myself to come over from Copenhagen. Unfortunately it's coaches and ferries, a two day trip. With nothing from CPH, where you'd think they might have a supporter group.
Still I've tickets to the away leg so no worries. I hope we take advantage of the club "size" and do a proper job.
