Reading the comment about 5 4 1 and sit and wait and hope tactic and you could have swapped Wednesday for QPR and Xisco and Ainsworth and no one would've known the difference and the way they play now means this should be a very very watchable game with hopefully the fact we have 2 Talisman (Willock and Chair) to their 1(Bannon) fingers crossed will sway the game our way
Norf couldn't agree more it's a horrendous miss just find it staggering so many of our squad are so one footed that would be one of my things if I was coaching those players would be made to play in slippers on their good foot and a boot on the swinger to help train them to learn to kick with their wrong foot. Chair is our second most talented player(Behind Willock who should be a potential star in this division) and he just doesn't trust crossing the ball with his left foot the difference it would make to him and the team if he did it just a few times a game. The opposition wouldn't be able to double up on him coming inside
It always amazes me that people think a team not scoring goals is totally down to the strikers now in no way am I saying Dykes and Armstrong are the best forwards in the league but by and large forwards are only as good as their service. For me we are so predictable in feed the ball to Chair and hope he can cut inside and curl one into the top corner. Maybe once or twice try going down the line and drilling the ball across with his swinger left foot you just never know a defender might slash it into his own net
Classic case of a poor team badly set up conceding goals which would embarrass your average Sunday morning side. I am currently choked I bottled having a bet on us losing 46 matches out of 46 this season . In the current set up running around putting a tackle in and giving a f**k put you in contention for MOTM every week. Might have been the best thing to actually get relegated last season
Thought the crowd seems to have got behind the team and the fact is our tight little ground when the fans get behind the team can be the difference in tight games. For me MOTM was Field as second half he played midfield on his own apart from when Illy dropped back to give him some help. Like you I thought Broadhead was excellent not quite sure how he cannot make an Everton squad ahead of Rondon
The only way Risdale complaining about a clubs fiscal prudence could be topped is if tomorrow Prince Andrew came out complaining how Prince Harry had dirtied the good name of the Royal Family. Arithmetic must have changed since my school days as 34 + 32 added up to more than 39 when I was at school and having seen our Development squad play at Forest's Academy I did not notice the goalposts being made from pure gold but like everything in finance a Good Accountant is worth their weight in said substance
To be fair Hendrie will have a hard on for Gordon a young slight wide player at his local top flight club who are living on their glorious past. Who starts off brightly talk of possible England career who struggles to actually gets games for them ends up transferring to Middlesbro/Forest and retires by his early 30s thanks to his off field activities. That's my predictions for Gordon hope I'm wrong just seen it too many times before
All you need to know about how bad a game this was came from a fellow R fan walking away from the ground "Thank heavens(SKY Sports apologise for any bad language you may have heard) for Tier 3 I won't have to suffer that again for a long while"
Fantastic preview as always just seen a BT Sports trailer saying about the magic since 1878 ffs says it all sadly the rest of the world values the oldest football competition more than those who run it nowadays
Great Article as always.About time QPR stuck with a manager and worked out what sort of club QPR are exactly.Develop a youth structure and pick up talented players from lower down and make them better oh and the odd journeyman pro to bolster the team.Always think as a club Clint Hill Jamie Mackie and Adel represent what we want from players 100 percent commitment Workrate Passion oh and slightly flawed genius types its what we (QPR) are and hopefully always will be.We are not going to sign a finished article but can hopefully polish a few nuggets to shine and then sell them for a kings ransom
As always a great and accurate summary of QPR and the game.Quite like the Hall and Crainie comparison though Hall reminds me of Matt Connolly when he was at his best.A reader intercepting defender which for some reason aren't as popular at Rangers as full on last ditch slide tackle defenders
Absolute gold both from you Clive Clattenburg and the team .Wish the crowd was this good every game and yes when LR is like that there is nowhere to compare.
Proper team my favourite moment as a Rangers fan it wasnt the most skilful or talented team you would ever see but my god did they have heart fully reflected the manager.Honest hardworking but a little mad.I certainly will cheer should we win playoff semi on Monday but won't feel quite the same.My mate malc still has his England Furlong no 29 shirt.Lets make some noice we are the Rangers boys
I'm amazed that a player of his caliber has joined us i thought he would be off to a Everton /Spurs type of club before his step to the Champions League for me this is the equivalent to signing Adel before the Championship winning campaign .I thought he was also the outstanding player on the park in the game at Loftus Road last year as well.So Hoilett Taarabt Faurlin and Diakite in midfield should help get that age down a bit
Brilliant piece again Northern R to come from Peterboro no shots against a team that conceded nearly 100 goals in a season and Forest(a 5 nil defeat where none of supporters get angry)to Premiership with Tango and Cash above him is up there with anything any other manager has done at QPR.I would've stuck with NW as I don't believe we will get a better manager than him.Still as they say God Save the King Long Live the King
Another excellent piece of journalism thought provoking quite like the analogy with Riquelme although I personally see him more as new Paolo Di Canio.I can remember having the conversation about Adel in comparison to Bowles and Marsh and stating he is technically the best player ever to wear the Hoops and no one arguing too much. The Pompey game I was screaming at him to lay it right but luckily it went in.Just goes to show how one man can change a club and its culture and that man is NW and I have heard fellow R's fans doubt if he'll be good enough to manage in the top flight
