To go in on Starmer for saying he prioritises family on a Friday night is dumb and lazy (more so considering the buffoon voted in last time). To go in on him after it’s been explained it’s a very standard ritual for Jews, much like a non-religious Christian family would spend Sunday lunch together, is absurd dog whistle behaviour.
My understanding is it’s a two year deal with a fairly low release clause so I guess there’s an incentive for him to put a shift in for a move. Part of me would like the club to turn around and say the deal’s off the table but he did do well (probably not as well some people believe) towards the end of the season. No point cutting off noses to spite faces so draw a line under it. I’d be curious to know how his pay changes from last season but no chance we’ll find out.
Football is cyclical and I think 442 will make a comeback at some point. So many teams trying and failing to play lovely triangles while rarely looking like scoring. There’s nothing wrong with being a bit more direct, looking to play in the other team’s half and having more than one isolated striker. It doesn’t have to be John Beck.
Was he a dull club manager? I honestly can’t remember. The tables from his Boro seasons suggests so.
As others have said he more likely moves ‘upstairs’ but if he wanted another crack at club management there’d be big clubs having a look for sure. Unhappy fans always make more noise but the bloke is respected in the game.
Not really comparable players but that’s an awful lot of dough for potential. Sincerely doubt Leeds are in a position to be turning down far less so I’d guess it’s a lot of extras depending on performance to take it up to £40m.
Pretty sure he’ll win Clacton. Would be hilarious if he didn’t but they’ve picked it for a reason and thrown plenty of resources at it which others haven’t.
It’s a pretty abysmal record overall but surely the abysmal record since the last GE is most relevant. They made a complete hash of Covid in various ways, intentionally and not and it’s just spiralled from there. The corruption over Covid, the totally lax attitude to it until it was too late, the ignoring of rules they were making, the disaster of Truss, the mindless culture wars and Rwanda/that bloody ship they leased for a fortune to get someone richer to nobody else’s benefit. That’s why I want them crushed.
When it comes to defending I think I’d take my chances on you over Larkeche. Hopefully one who comes back a lot stronger and better but I can’t honestly see it.
Also fair to point out more Tory MPs opposed than backed gay marriage including some well-known today whereas about ten Labour voted for it for every one against.
They seem to have given up making Boxing Day vaguely ‘local’. Probably to avoid crowd trouble and high policing requirements. Appreciate you can never give everyone an easy one for travel.
Swansea for us. Cov v Plymouth (!) Bristol City v Luton Blackburn v Sunderland Norwich v Millwall Oxford v Cardiff
I guess you’re guaranteed a pretty good audience from the fans of the clubs alone. All it really does is reduce the attendance at the matches. I’m surprised the 250k is so high though. Presumably skewed towards the end of the season as that’ll be a pretty big chunk of Sky Sports subscribers most of whom you’d think don’t give a toss about Norwich v Preston in November.
It’s the all new Sky Sports streaming super service I assume. Games moved for the four agoraphobes interested in watching multiple games on a sweltering August day.
Some really grim away double-headers there which statistically makes it a lot harder to pick up points. Crap Boxing Day. Crap final game if we need something. Luton away on the one weekend I can’t do. Meh.
And there are similar bans in place elsewhere for the same reason but it’s never too hard work for the Mail to get readers frothing over a Khan headline.
