He looks a very capable and intelligent guy. Currently under contract with Minesota. Could this be an obstacle? Likely to have worked with Alan Tate in the youth set up of the Swans. Apologies for nothing other than pure speculation on my part - Tatey as his No 2?.
When I left the ground after we beat Luton with a last minute winner on 28th December I genuinely beliefed we were play off candidates. Its incredible how things have changed in such a short space of time. On the other hand that's the Championship for you. Never a dull moment.
O' Neill didn't seem to have much of a reputation by fans at Wolves due to his uninspiring brand of football. Paying high wages doesn't guarantee securing the best.
Let himself down in my opinion. I had some sympathy for the guy giving the passing of his father. He was emotional at the time and got caught up in the moment. That would have been enough mitigation with no need to exaggerate. A good manager takes responsibility for his actions. The club get what they deserve. Like attracts like.
Agree you are spot on. Sale of Grimes couldn't have been at a worse time. O' Brien deal good business to steady us through to the end of the season. Then time to reevaluate.
As todays article from Fans Network shows unless things change drastically that could be highly unlikely. Value 3 million current wages 37k of which we are rumoured to be paying a significant part if not all of the rumoured 24k. By our standards that is way over our budget. Looks like we broke the bank after the untimely departure of Grimes. Really hope I'm wrong. A lot of water to run under the bridge until then.
Nobody made more high profile signings than Tosh. The likes of Callaghan, Kennedy, Tommy Smith the list is endless. He would invite them down to Swansea. Take them for a walk on Caswell Beach then up to the Caswell Bay Hotel for a meal and drinks. By then they were all keen to sign. Tosh sold our stunning locality better than anyone else.
Its been mentioned on here a number of times previously maybe by you WR that investing in the Acadamy is a way round FFP. If so would love to see us get back to Category 1 status and have a Director of football overseeing the entire set up. Gareth Jennings seems to be a good fit in this regards..
Much better second half today. Players showed a lot of character. O'Brien slotted in nicely on his debut. A bit rusty but clear to see a good player at this level.
