Indeed. His contract expires in May so perhaps they are not intending to keep him. Otherwise, surely they would want to oversee his rehab? |

Bendle on loan to St Albans. Presumably they must be lining up some signings as so far all we have are players leaving an already small squad. |

But they want to remain in the EFL, don't they? I think giving up their ability to qualify for Europe via English competitions doesn't really get away from the fact that those clubs will be much more likely to qualify for Europe via a Welsh cup competition, giving them a financial advantage from being in Europe. It would be gaming the system for financial advantage. |

Yes, Smith and Anderson were the best of the January acquisitions. But in the end Smith promised more than he delivered and fell out of favour with DC. I think Anderson struggles against big, physical defenders, but as you say Edwards does too. Mind you, when he's on song Edwards is a dynamic player, but his deliveries need to improve. |

As I've said, in my opinion, none of the players signed on loan last January made a huge impact. Some might argue that Anderson made a difference, but I'm not a fan, I don't think he's physically robust enough for League Two. |

Makes that club look ridiculous, given how long he's been in charge, and the recent history of sacking multiple managers. Absolutely pathetic, in my opinion. Not that I care much! |

It seems to me that there is a massive difference between recruiting players in the summer, when they get pre-season training if signed early enough, and January signings, when players have to be fitted into the existing set up. It's not impossible to make it work, just significantly more difficult. Perhaps the issue is the size of the squad (which DC has mentioned recently), but as the policy of the owner seems to be players out (like Woodyard) before new ones come in, the size of the squad is unlikely to increase much, if at all. |

I know there is a lot of excitement and speculation around the January window, but surely the point is to recruit well in the summer? January business is often done in a panic, and at a time when the best players are unlikely to be available, so it's easy to make signings and live to regret. I think the loan deals done after the Cowleys arrived last January weren't hugely successful. I don't think any of them really changed the narrative of the second half of last season. Why should anyone think it will be any different now? |

Agree with points 2-5, but think that's a bit harsh on Terry. He's only just come back from Braintree so a tough ask for him. He was clearly nervous at first, but improved toward the end of the first half. Taking him off didn't help, as a few minutes later we conceded the second goal due to poor defending on our left flank. Any blame should be attached to more senior players. |

You make some good points. I thought Bishop had a few good moments and was on the receiving end of a lot of fouls. We got to the byline a few times in the first half but the final pass was lacking, which has been a problem all season. With better deliveries we could have had three goals. In the second half we didn't create much at all and we lost control of the midfield. The pitch looks terrible, but it's the same for both sides. |

The only reason I can think of for not starting with Taylor, Edwards and Thorn at Swindon was fatigue due to the heavy pitch at the JCS for the previous couple of games. DC mentioned the pitch in a post-match interview. I agree they need to start today so we can be on the front foot. |

There was a defender between Anderson and the goal. So maybe that's why no red card? Maybe I'm being a bit harsh, but I think he could have easily stepped over the keepers trailing leg and slotted it in. |

A fair assessment. DC also thought that we were fortunate with the second penalty, after Gordon's challenge on the keeper. I think you've got the pens in the wrong order though! [Post edited 2 Jan 16:59]
