No brainer...Jenkins. As much as the Latest Wronged dissagree. Punching above our weight in the PL for 5 yrs, including a good stab at the Europa League. No one else has come close.
There's no explaining to be done Darr. We get the hand we're given and have to deal with it the best we can. For some of us that means more pain than the rest of us would like to put up with. Luck (or bad luck) of the draw...
For 4, whoever waged the media campaign while FG was in post should be shot. But the change over was a vast improvement to when Garry was sacked, so lessons had been learnt there. The Mericans are responsible for the choice of Bob though, without a doubt.
99% of us on here know that, Curt must know that, so what was Bob thinking? Is this his blood and thunder approach to football coming out? Did he think playing with those two would give us a more attacking threat? Had he not considered that Joe would need shackling? I can't understand what went on in his head to set us up like that.
Having said that, for a prefessional footballer to just turn his back and walk away from his man during the second phase of a set piece is simply inexcusable. Fer needs a massive kick up the arse for that - now the pressure's on we're seing the Fer that has been relegated twice and that qpr fans warned us about.
Mind you, we've gone from Joe to De Guzman to Shelvey to Fer. And that's not Fer's fault.
All these changes everyone wants are all well and good, except they will cost a lot of money. The owners raised enough for the share buy-out, but presumably they'd need to raise finance again somehow. I'm not convinced they've got money to invest or would be able to raise it without saddling us with a significant debt. Besides they seem keen to reduce debt. I can't see any of it happening.
We certainly went backwards last night. That's the worse midfield performance I've seen from us in a long, long time. Far too open, with laziness thrown in too. Fer for the first goal makes my blood boil (even if Tayls fecked up first by not clearing a bog standard header under no pressure whatsoever).
Fab Rangel VDH Amat Naughton Cork Ki Fer Sig Routs Borja
In that wonky midfield 5 with Routs Providing the width. We need an extra man in midfield to make up for the general crappyness, as Garry and Guidolin worked out. It won't be pretty, but we're beyond worrying about that. Barrow's best when a game is stretched or against tired defenders imo. So leave him on the bench.
Thought he was a bright spark. Held the ball up well, but we often got no players round him. When he did have support, he was inevitably involved in our best moves. Showed some nice skill, good awareness. And got thoroughly fed up with trying to tell Barrow what to to. He's far from the problem. Doesn't look like a goal scorer, but if we had players of the intelligence of Michu or Ayew running off him, we'd be banging them in (probably).
