I heard he failed on the treadmill. He jumped on and it started going, but he asked "where's the sideways and backwards function, I can't go forward" |

Let's hope we get Low in before we release Darling, otherwise WW may capitalise on our desperation and try to hike the price even further. (1) Sign Low (2) Sell Darling (500k+ minimum more than what we sign Low for due to his experience at this level) (3) Make sure there's some great add-ons included so we get a bumper pay day when they're promoted and when he's next sold on! |
| Forum Reply | Darling to leave also? at 23:40 28 Jan 2025
Me too. But be quick. Put the offer on the table for him tomorrow. Grimes is going, we want you to take over the armband and here's a whopping new 4 year contract. If he rejects, we need a good offer to come in and fill the coffers a bit for us to secure Low who I think the club see as being a long term asset. Like the clubs scrambling around for Darling, despite Low apparently currently being keen to come to south wales, we can't afford to to rest on our laurels and expect him to sign when he becomes a free agent in the summer. Who knows whom may come in and offer him better and more attractive terms. So a lot of what it's in a short space if time, but if Darling is not going to re-sign and we get 1.5m+ (he's worth more than that but has only 6 months left) that would mean we could still secure Low and get a small profit. Luvvly Jubbly. |
| Forum Reply | Swans target expensive midfielder. at 23:22 28 Jan 2025
Always a bit dubious of a highlights video but he does look like an upgrade on Grimes. Not too many goals scored, but he's not afraid to have a shot. Most encouraging thing was he's always looking forward, he doesn't look like he too bothered about maintaining possession for the sake of it, he's either running directly at defenders or carving them open with some good passing. He could be a great fit in midfield and partner with Franco. [Post edited 29 Jan 13:31]

Everyone can draw their own conclusions, but let's just say I'm not really looking forward to the film sequel "King to a Jack" which will likely be aired when we're a bottom half League 2 team by 2030. I am a glass half full kind of guy though, so I still think two good signings (both midfield if/when Grimes goes) and a new manager within the next week with a new philosophy and tactics and we can finish the season off decently and build for next year. |
| Forum Reply | What does Grimes transfer request tell us? at 21:42 27 Jan 2025
(a) he's out most natural leader remaining in the squad, even if that is only for 4 months. (b) It may show him how much he's valued and being a captain (with another increase on wages) may help persuade him to stay? |
| Forum Reply | What does Grimes transfer request tell us? at 20:45 27 Jan 2025
Nope. But even if his agent is putting the feelers out and advertising his clients services, that doesn't necessarily mean he's put in a transfer request which is a formal process within a club and often leads to breaking clauses in player contracts with regards to "loyalty bonuses". |

Has Grimes put in a transfer request? I've heard he's open to the move to Coventry but I've not heard officially (or through the grapevine) that Grimes is trying to force the issue? |
| Forum Reply | Matt Grimes rumours 😲 at 20:28 27 Jan 2025
For those who have seen the film moneyball.... Remember that time when Billy Beane wanted to put a certain player on first base, but the "coach" refused and picked someone else every week??? Beane ended up selling/trading the player to force the coach's hand........ I'll let you all mull over that |

I believe his time to go has come. Anything 3m+ should be seen as a pretty decent deal all round. He may be narked off with Williams as some have suggested, or maybe under appreciated if us fans, most of whom (on this forum) appear to gladly want to see him go (or at least be stripped of the captaincy duties). If he does go, he should be treated with the respect he deserves by the Jack Army and wished well. Whatever your thoughts are to him as a player/captain, from my perspective he's always been a model professional and treated the club and it's fans with respect. I've been frustrated watching the majority of our play go through him rather than the team being more fluid and quicker on the attack, time will tell if our performances and results will improve in his absence. I think he's been club captain under 5 different managers who couldn't all have been wrong? All the best MG, I wish you well for the rest of your playing career. |

100%. I don't disagree, he laid down the defensive foundations Rodgers benefitted from in our promotion year. But I was bored out of my skull watching the team play. |

No offense taken don't worry! Emotions are high right now and I fancy popping my gloves on and hitting some bags!!! |
| Forum Reply | So,how much more at 15:29 25 Jan 2025
The answer is simple (which many won't like). Don't turn up. You'll never get 100% of fans not turn up as they will support the team no matter what and it will hurt us financially with less gate receipts. But if our crowds dwindled down from 13k to 6k in a space of a couple of weeks the Board would soon get the message and act. |

My point is... As things stand right now. It doesn't matter who we get in because they wouldn't do a worse job than our current manager (on current form). He disrespected us and wanted the WBA job, and since then we have been woeful. We were massively inconsistent in the run up to Christmas too. Any new manager who comes in MAY take us down. I accept that. But LW WILL take us down. We need to give the team a fighting chance, new voice, new tactics. If not... It's league one next year |
| Forum Reply | New Manager at 15:09 25 Jan 2025
Giggs? Gerrard? Cooper? Dyche? At this point in time absolutely anybody. Who would do a worse job? Right now I'd have my least favourite swans manager of all time come back (Sousa) in place for this guy. The football was boring but at least we were very difficult to beat! Teams are walking all over very us at the moment. |
| Forum Reply | Norwich City v Swansea City : Mach day thread at 14:57 25 Jan 2025
Haven't seen the game today but reading this thread in real time confirms it's been another shambles. Players aren't blameless, no. But the same manager keeps putting the same players out with the same instructions. If they're not following his instructions then he needs to have the cohonas to drop them. If he's happy with how they're contributing... Well then there's your answer. Not purely based on today's result but I've said since December he has to go. He's lost the majority of the fans, the players must be lacking confidence as well. Can he really look himself in the mirror and say "I'm the best person for this job" the answer is obviously no and he should offer his resignation immediately. If the answer is "yes" Coleman needs to arrange people in white coats to have his assessed because he's deluded. Either way, he should resign or be sacked before the team bus sets off from Carrow Road this afternoon. |

"We can't build a group in the simplest way, just finding players who are performing very well in the Championship, splashing the cash and bringing them in to make those performances for us. Lovely, a shortcut is brilliant. But we are not in that situation, so we have to find a clever way. It's our responsibility inside the building to re-engage with the fans and to give them optimism and hope that actually something is changing. It is ridiculously challenging, yes, because we don't have the obvious things that help many teams to be successful. But sulking is not going to change that. The only way to help is to warrior up and try to find a smart way to try to build a group of players with a feeling and a style that can hack the system and get us where we want to be” Can I suggest you start with playing a bit more directly... Forward passes/through balls and overlapping fullbacks to get the ball into the box more regularly would be a start. Also a player who actually likes to dribble and run at the heart of defences would be good to keep them guessing. Sideways/backwards passing (constantly) is not the way forward (see what I did there) |
