| Your Report | Southampton v Liverpool Your Report added at 17:45:41 edit - "was a warning" P.S. - Tall Paul showed he can play and again just shows how bad RM has done in picking players. P.S.S. - Bench Jack - he is a sub at best and made multiple horrible passes. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Liverpool Your Report added at 17:43:24 Again we did it to ourselves. AM is at fault for 2 goals and their penalty was just bad luck. All the play form the back crap we did in the first 15 minutes was not a warning and for this RM should be sacked. He has not adapted his tactics and this is what cost us the game (along with AM). On a separate note - on other sites the LPool fans are complaining that TD wasnt fouled and he "ran" in to their player. Typical whiners, yet VAR said there was not irrefutable evidence to over turn the on field decision - So basically, the ref got it right and leave it at that. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Leicester City Your Report added at 14:16:55 So I have been a defender of VAR but this game lost me. I watched the shirt pull on Tall Paul, and in "real time" it was over 2 seconds. At 6'7", he could cover the 2 yards and probably beat the goalie to the ball - whether he scores or not is irrelevant. VAR looked at it and said no - clown show. You give that penelaty, then it is maybe 3-1 and Leis lose their confidence, we man doesnt pull Vardy - it is 3-2 and we have 11 men. Then when Paul was pulled down on the free kick, VAR even stated that the "pulling" was not significant. WTF - You admit the pulling but it wasnt enough. I also watched Vardy tackle on Sugawara and his boots were up and hit Sugawara right below the knee. Even the commentator said that was a reckless challenge. Once he left due to that injury, our whole back line lost its shape and then the problems begin. How is VAR not looking at that? So pissed right no about VAR. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Millwall Your Report added at 22:46:40 Wow - just watched the highlights and have to say Gavin flubbed the 1st goal badly. Any keeper knows to either punch it or stretch out your arms to get the catch early not wait to use your chest. UGH. The second goad PEN was a joke. I watched it 5x to see it. Yes it hit his hand, but what are you supposed to do when you are turning your body away and your LEFT hand is by your side. REF bottled that and a few others. That being said, I think most of these players believe they deserve to be in the automatic promotion spots and dont feel they have to earn it cause they were in the Prem LAST season. From what I saw, except for Stu, Che and KWP, the rest were mediocre at best. Well this game showed that any time can beat us, so the lads better pull their heads out of their butts and realize that they need to fight for a playoff position. This Jekyll and Hyde persona we have needs to stop and fast. |
| Your Report | Middlesbrough v Southampton Your Report added at 23:26:53 So I was going to wait till Nick's report, but I can't as he must be stewing and trying to find any positives. Well you all have expressed much of my thoughts, but I think a couple of things need to said: 1. Why the hell did we let Roman Peroud leave? Manning is horrible and his has not ability to use his right foot, so that makes him predictable. 2. Holgate should be sent back and give Bree a chance. 2a. 2 personal mistakes cost us two goals. 3. Flynn Downs looks like a boy at times. He has no creativity and I read that RN said Charlie Alcazar was not used as his head wasn't in it? What the hell does that mean. 4. I don't fault the ref for the making the penalty call as without VAR he couldn't have seen that the attacker was pulling HB shirt just as much. 5. It is obvious that RM has his favorites, who are not performing, so this will continue. Again my biggest complaint is that he does not any tactical acumen. How many times did KWP start a run behind the defense and nobody tried a chip over. I counted 8 and no balls over the top. 6. At the pace, SR need to make a serious decision - (1) fire RM at the next international break or (2) accept that we will end mid-table and rid it out to the end of the season and start over. Last thing I will say is that this team and its mediocre play/style has caused me so much frustration that I find I am miserable for hours after the match because of way we play. No more. I am no longer going to watch the matches until Christmas time to see if anything has changed. My weekends will no longer be ruined by this lot of players. I will enjoy watching the Premier League and root for goals not teams. I wish you all the best in your viewing of the team over the next several months. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Leicester City Your Report added at 13:40:32 I will save my review of the game after reading Nick's review, but will say these 3 things for now: 1. Russel Martin seems to be like RH and stuck in his ways with no plan B. He also is making some daft subs. 2. Ryan Manning shouldn't be on the pitch and wouldn't make my Sunday League team. 3. We should have sold Sulemana to anyone that offered $1. He obviously thinks he is better than anyone else and should be somewhere better, YET he is responsible for a goal for the 4th goal with his lazy pass. Bench him and sell him to anyone in January. |
| Your Report | Sunderland v Southampton Your Report added at 17:27:55 We gave the ball away so many times trying to force it and that caught so many players especially KQP and Manning out of position. I dont know why we let Parraud go just to play manning? RM's style seems to be like Ralph's and that the wingback play way TOOOOO forward and expose the space behind. Well they have 2 week to pull their heads out of their asses and get ready for LEI . I think this will give us a real indication if we have any chance for promotion. |
| Your Report | Nottingham Forest v Southampton Your Report added at 02:26:39 Yeah another disappointment. But hey that has been our season. So many mental mistakes on and off the pitch. The only issue I had with the team selection was AMN at LB. KWP can play LB, so why not him there and then AMN on right where he is more comfortable. Also, knowing Johnson has so much speed, KWP would have been better on that side. Oh well now it is done and we need to concentrate on the Championship next season. |
| Your Report | Arsenal v Southampton Your Report added at 22:54:45 Well that was some game. I bet if you asked any Saints fans for a point and a draw before the game they would ripped your hand off for it. That being said, it is 2 points dropped. My only really substitution issue was Tall Pall O. At a point in the game when we needed some one up front to pester and harass, he is not the right choice as he is too slow to cut off passing lanes etc. I think their last two goals came down to us being tired and not pressing the player with the ball. You can't give Odegaard that kind of space. Well a point is better than nothing, but just means we have to win this weekend. If we play poorly this weekend, then it shows that the players only care about the big team games and we will get what we deserve. Oh the ref gave a few of their platers breaks when they were pulling our players down and not booking them. Oh well, on to the next must win game. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Crystal Palace Your Report added at 17:23:39 Well we suck, plan and simple. Like I have been saying for the last 4 weeks, we can't score, so it is no use. Theo should have scored and Aribo too. Why Sulemana is on the pitch I have no idea. He gave the ball away over 6 times in the first half alone. Yeah, same old same junk. We pass the ball too slowly and NOBODY makes the channel run and the player with the ball makes a good pass. Hard to believe but the only player who showed anything was Theo. Well Championship here we come and hung up the jersey for the season. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Tottenham Hotspur Your Report added at 21:20:53 Let's all admit we never saw this comeback coming from 3-1. We scored 21% of our goals at home in the 2nd half and we needed it. Credit to all the players as they put in a shift and kept digging. Their 1st goal was caused by RP tracking Skip or Kulusevski making a run that neither of our CBs saw so it left the flank wide open. Bu we battled back and when it was 1-1, I thought we had a real chance to get something, but didnt think it would be 3-3. Anyways, somehow we are still in the hunt and as long as we score goals, we have a chance. BUT one game does not make prolific goal scorers. COYR |
| Your Report | Leeds United v Southampton Your Report added at 16:45:33 Ugh - so much to say about this game but feel like I am screaming into the wind. It was simple, no passion, wrong tactics and some wrong players started. Also, the same old story of not taking our chances and we can't score from open play. Last time in the league was before the world cup break I believe. UGH |
| Your Report | Chelsea v Southampton Your Report added at 19:26:32 Holy crap - who saw that coming? Well we are not dead yet. Everyone played massive and the Defense gave it everything. TEAM effort for sure and it needed to be. COYR |
| Your Report | Southampton v Wolverhampton Wanderers Your Report added at 17:44:44 Wow, just wow. If the board doesnt sack Jones now, then they are admitting they planned for relegation since his hiring. HOW do you lose to 10-men when you are up 1-0. Unbelievable, but really doesn't surprise me. |
| Your Report | Newcastle United v Southampton Your Report added at 16:23:06 Reading the comments and agree with all who said NJ starting picks were off. Diallo should not have started and Roman should have. NJ stubbornness to this back 3 is going to be our down fall. We were playing away in a hostile environment and should have started with a 4-4-2. His subs were badly done (except KWP who had a awful game). One note, Salisu was at fault for turning the ball over more than 8 times, with 3 of them passing the ball out of play with his left foot. He is LEFT footed. The ref was horrible again. Gameraes should have seen two yellows way before that horrible tackle on Endozie. At halftime, we hade 10 fouls and they had 2????? The refs in the Prem are just getting worse as they have not fear of not being selected for games. Final note, if AA scores, then the final minutes would have caused NU to panic and we could have maybe nicked it. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Blackpool Your Report added at 18:08:03 Well that was hardly convincing. A game we should have handled easily after 2-0The last 10 minutes made us look like a Championship side. I think that this game should why Aribo and Mara hardly play. Well onto NewCastle mid-week. |
| Your Report | Southampton v Newcastle United Your Report added at 02:43:15 Oh and Dean Ashton is a clown. For Talksport, he said that Djenepo should have got out of the way of Pope. What a moron. If Djrnepo to out Pope, people would have been screaming their heads off. |
