Nucleus of a fairly strong Championship side next season 13:30 - Dec 30 with 1580 viewsPatfromPoole

McCarthy
Bree
Wood
Edwards
Charlie Taylor
Downes
Aribo
Smallbone
Fraser
Archer
Armstrong

That's a starting 11 of players I don't see getting moves to a Prem club in the summer, possible question mark on Downes maybe.

With the likes of Fraser, Amo-Ameyaw and dare I say Stephens also there to add options from the bench.

You could see Archer and Armstrong each getting 20-odd goals in the Championship next season.

A few decent signings to give us more depth, and it should be a decent season.

Would imagine Charles would feature heavily given how well he’s done at Wednesday

We’ll rip Wycombe Wanderers a new arsehole with that 11 bbz!

No VAR either!

WE MARCH ON

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Will it be stronger than Leicester and Ipswich's next season (or, God forbid, Man City's, Everton's or Wolves')? We were 9 points behind last time. Have we really strengthened our squad that much more than they have?

Even the first name on your list is enough to give any sane Saints fan the heebie jeebies.

VAR is just more referees and they are always biased in favour of the bigger clubs, which in the Championship we will be.

Looks like some have been on the left over cooking Sherry ! Taking into account the obvious players that will leave, we will still need to seriously invest to upgrade and become serious contenders to finish in top 2.

We will be back with 3 dodgy keepers, and a number of players that are just not consistent enough, even for the Championship.

That's a mid -table Championship squad at best. I'm hoping Juric will improve the team a substantial amount. To be honest I'd hate to watch that set of players every week. It would be too depressing - talk about mediocre. I predict now losing away to Wrexham and Millwall!

Juric will do well if after the summer transfer madness he can build a team capable of seriously competing for promotion.

Good old SR, what football geniuses they are!

Face the reality, we’re on the way down. How far down remains to be seen.
As a football club we’re crap but there’s plenty worse and far more relevant reasons in life to get depressed about.
This member has decided to take a break from all the crying and complaining.

Happy New Year.

That is a shit team.

Not sure Ivan Juric will be with us in Championship next season.
There is a break clause in his contract at the end of this season which allows him or the Club to invoke.
I don't think the club would keep him when we go down, typical of SR they would look for a cheaper version.

I was of course also overlooking Edozie, and his return from Anderlecht.

Never a Prem player, but a half-decent Championship winger.

Of the players who'll still be here next season, the one most likely to be a star is Amo-Ameyaw.

Very rarely any end product of note from him.

I would be inclined to agree.

Though he did score 6 goals last season, some of which were quite crucial goals in games.

That's a very unlikely team if Juric stays or if we have another decent manager next year. It's a team full of 5'6" or lightweight players who can do bit of tippy tappy but not much else. It's very much a legacy of RM's days, which by next year we should be starting to move beyond. Next year we should be starting to see more death metal football and hopefully we'll use the parachute payments and money from player sales to buy a few players who can play it.

If next year our physicality in attack is limited to Fraser, Archer and Armstrong as in your team, then we will still be sh*t - but as we've seen, you can be sh*t and still make the play-offs.

Death metal football.

It’s very 2018, wouldn’t you say?

The 90's would be more accurate although thanks to Ghost there's a bit of a resurgence even though they are more Abba than Napalm death.
