Derby into Admin on 11:58 - Jan 17 by kensalriser | Can't see Everton going for Rooney, too high a risk given their position. Also can't see Derby being liquidated - always a first of course, but there's no precedent for a team of their size. |
It's a difficult one. The position they are in I'm not sure they could command a high profile Manager. Who'd want the ignominy of being the first Manager ever to take them down? (pleeeeeease let it be Mark Hughes!!) Rooney has shown he can cut the mustard to a degree and I don't think would be any worse than the usual suspects of the ilk of Allardyce (already been there), Pulis, Pardew etc.

Rooney has shown he can recognise mustered, he may even be able to taste it but i am not sure he has shown he can cut it yet. Big gamble but then again experience and pedigree hasnt exactly worked for Everton.

I know - its an impossible position to argue from "So you paid 60% of due amount to the players, deducted the 40% and erm....... kept it" "But we couldn't afford it" " So you could afford the higher amount, but not the lower ...hmmmmmm"

Is quite ironic that they want the EFL to act quickly to help them after they delayed accounts for 3 years to avoid any punishments
Derby into Admin on 18:08 - Jan 17 with 4113 views | EastR | I'm fairness if the EFL had not dragged their feet (not for the first time) the Wycombe potential lawsuit would never have arisen as Derby would have been relegated before the season started. All these clubs slugging it out amongst themselves when the real problems can all be traced back to lack of oversight by the EFL.

The EFL couldn’t do anything until the accounts were submitted, Derby kept delaying not the EFL.

True. I don't know why the EFL still haven't set a rule that deducts points automatically if accounts are not submitted by a specific date.

As I understand it Derby did submit their original accounts on time. The problem was that they were fiction. I can't remember timelines for resubmission though but what I do know is that Derby and their fans haven't a leg to stand on.

Some interesting points in the MFC statement " in simple terms, MFC allege Derby County and its directors systematically cheated under the P&S Rules and that such cheating affects the integrity of the competition. At least two clubs, namely Middlesbrough and Wycombe, were directly affected by the cheating, albeit in different seasons. In simple terms so far as MFC is concerned, had Derby County not cheated, MFC would have been in the play-offs. However, Derby County did cheat and, as a result, MFC lost the opportunities that arise as result of that." I guess by cheating they are referring to the way Derby have manipulated their accounts and delayed publishing their accounts rather then simple breaking the rules by overspending?

I would say it is due to their accounting methods, which were against convention and arguably fraudulent. Mind you, as stated on Price of Football, the senior statutory auditor signing off Sevco's audit report has on his profile on their website that he's a big Derby County fan and the audit firm concerned are corporate sponsors of Derby! Good conflict of interest there.

They're either not competent or they think there's a better offer on the way. £450k isn't really a lot.

Derby into Admin on 23:07 - Jan 18 with 5804 views | Jigsore | throughly dislike this simpering treatment Derby are getting. don't remember us getting much except kicks to the torso while we were down. don't know whether it's Rooney or some sort of weird respect because they're an old club. don't hope for them to go bust, of course, but some of the things people are asking the authorities to do for Derby would set a disastrous precedent. the EFL are a shambles and deserve lots of criticism all round, but Mel Morris on paper was a dream owner for them, not a Carson Yeung or Greek mafioso

I can't see how Middlesbrough could demonstrate that they would have won the play offs. Therefore, in my view, the only loss of earnings that they can claim is the income from the play off semi final. Is that worth going to court over?
