Very sad news.

I hadn't seen him for a few years - the last time I remember was a midweek Millwall match about 10 years ago - but definitely an important figure in the history of our fans and club.

The obvious reference point is THAT photo taken at the end of the last game on grass in 1981 but heard a few stories about him on the LSA coaches including the one when they threw him in the River Trent! (I won't repeat the story Vic told me about Mick and a coach in Nottingham... Just in case!)

RIP Mick, COYRs

Remember him well. Often stood on the terrace when we only had a handful at away games. Didn’t know him, don’t think I even knew his name, only conversed a couple of times.

Where was he from, age etc?

I can't remember exactly where, but he was definitely from very close to Loftus Road as far as I remember.

Age? I'd say around 65-68.

I'll go 68/70, he was around for a rather sticky away at Birmingham where we had a quick chat after my small outfit fortuitously bumped into his bigger and older group.

Edit, in the blown up pic it says he was from the White City Estate.

RIP Mickey, met him a few times, one being one of the funniest incidents that I experienced on the way home from a match, involving a Leeds fan and some stolen cream cakes.

We've lost a good 'un there.

Just had thoughts of John Proudlock (RIP) with the inflatable milk bottle in 1986!

Never a fan of violence, so me and Micky often had a philosophical, erm, difference on that score. I liked him, though, and we usually had an ol' chat when we met at an away game.

Like others, I have a story too. Mine involves Coventry, some Zulus and a bulge under his raincoat.

RIP Micky. You were alright.

Elli was the one I looked up to as a kid on the Loft back in the early 70's. Out of the Wormholt, disabled by polio (which he supposedly caught in the Blom baths) but never cowed by any of that. Away games in those days were eventful to say the least and on a number of occasions he saved my skinny little frame, one time in Sheffield United literally stepping between me and some giant northern monster.

Life for Micky was increasingly tough, but so was he and supporting Rangers gave him joy. Wish I could have been there at HQ to wave him goodbye

Oh man, I’ve just worked out who he was. I never knew Mickey’s name back in those days.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?
