Bobby Madley's version of why he was dismissed at the link below.
If true, it's a shameful indictment of a world run by automatons where one mistake can ruin a career and no one gets a second chance:

A savage punishment for what was no more than a single temporary lapse, clearly out of character and in what was a 'private' text message to a close friend. A proper hatchet job, even down to the way he was 'lured' to London for an 'informal chat'.

He's right to regret sending the text, it was in poor taste, but I can't see how there was no appeals process to follow.

Overpaid pen-pushers, frightened of their own shadows and scared to make a proper decision.

You know we all take the piss inappropriately sometimes, and the castigation of this mistake to the levels that have materialised is completely out of proportion. Carragher spat at a child and its ok for him, which was wrong but he paid the price. A complete over reaction from a bunch of scared old fogies. Give the guy a break, we are all human.

I’ve been communicating with Bobby on Twitter. He says Dale v Spurs was one of the best atmospheres he ever refereed in.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Reading between the lines suggests a case of "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."

On that Dale vs Spurs tie, I still think Dele conned Madley regarding the penalty:

Exactly, the nobodys who decide these decisions are never seen, but they run all our lives to some point or another. Still,it was a stupid thing to do,especially with the multi media that`s out there these days. Poor bloke,I thought he was a good ref in comparison to some that are out there.

Personally prefer to remember the twitter rumour about him being a dog botherer and pretend this story never came out.

Leader of the little gang of immature cretins.
