If* the club can attract Paul Hurst, then he should be the top of the list**

* it's a big IF
**if there is a list. I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Just told a mate of mine and he said the board should offer Big Sam a £50k from now until the seasons end to keep Dale up....

Yeah right.

Anyway..

I will stick with the following and throw in a controversial name into the mix.
Mark Warburton..
Jim Bentley..

Mark Sampson......ex lionesses coach....

My all time favourite Dale player Mr Lyndon Symmonds

FWIW Bowyer or Hurst look good appointments on paper. Unless they turn things around very quickly then you can't see BBM and Ellis even getting it to the end of the season. Reading between the lines, it appears that the club are looking to recruit externally

Looks like Bowyer is being announced at Bradford today according to Peter O'Rourke

Michael Flynn has done an incredible job at Newport.

You could argue that he's taken them as far as he can. You could also argue that he'd feel Dale have been taken as far they can and it wouldn't be a step up. Next season we'll more than likely be playing Newport. More than likely already been sounded out about by bigger clubs.

Apart from that, he's a shoe in.

Obviously has roots in South Wales, but spent a fair chunk of his playing career in the North.

Think it’ll be someone unattached. Can’t see us stumping up the cash for Hill and compensation for a manager.

Lets be honest, its a bit of a lottery.

When Keith took over from Steve Parkin it was viewed as a cheap option but look how that turned out.

When John Coleman took over after Steve Eyre it looked a decent appointment but look how that turned out.

BBM and Ellis getting the chance till the end of the season and see what happens?

Given that the Chairman has said he views the next few games as make or break for the season, it would seem to suggest he wouldn't be prepared to gamble on BBM and Ellis even in the short term, but who knows.

That said, I know for a fact, mainly because he told me, that Chris Dunphy had BBM lined up as Hill's eventual successor.

Who ever it is, all I want is to walk out of the ground on a Saturday feeling we've had a good crack at winning the game. That's all. We might go down but we need the team to play with freedom for the last 11 games. I'd take us scoring and conceding loads for the remainder of the season just to be entertained. I've been in the Radcliffe and the Cem far too early far too often this season, before the end of halves. Like a 'No Fear' type of football... now there's irony, right there.

The club statement says that BBM and Ellis will take training ahead of the Shrewsbury match, but not the match itself. It also ends by saying that a further statement will be made in due course. I'm, too, expecting someone to be in place by Saturday.
