It has to be in their heads now 17:06 - Jan 10 with 1129 views | bosh67 | There really is no reason why we can't get a point or more on the road other than belief now. After 10 straight losses, even after the first six it has to be an issue with the mental side of the team rather than the ability. I can't understand why at this level the team aren't being coached by phycologists to get them over this. After all, same players, same pitch, same rules, same length of play and yet we are so poor away from home that you think this is a mental issue now. The problem is if this isn't properly addressed within the training ground it will go on all season. The other problem is that we seem to not be able to play two halves in a row. And we still only have one player who can score goals.

Yes horribly naive of me. Sorry about that.

Stand offside, kick the ball straight into touch. Give the ball away to opposition. No movement, no runs off the ball. Players slipping over. The list is endless.

It has to be in their heads now on 17:25 - Jan 10 with 952 views | coolranger | All high level sport requires the right self confidence and positive mindset as key elements for success. In football I often notice how often after a particular 'streak' of wins or defeats, once a side breaks the run there follows a reverse sequence, even if only for a few games. My feeling now is that we really are on a slippery slope. Frankly, you can't argue with ten straight defeats. We are not good enough for the Premier League, and probably now have a 10% chance of escaping the drop. We can't rely purely on home form when we seem incapable of picking up perhaps even 10 points on the road. Personally, I'm beginning to find this whole Premier League lark just no fun. We go into most games in hope rather than expectation. The odd result gives us renewed hope, only to be flattened the following 3 games by various sides. Whatever the reasons, I just cannot now see this group digging themselves out of it. I also see signs of improvement at other strugglers. Don't think Harry has it in him any more, and Tony F has his hands full with far more important issues than football. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good post Cool. Totally agree. My dad says the same. The personnel probably are just about good enough to cling on at this level but the management is past it. That is the difference this season. Harry and co are clearly out of their depth but at only 3 pints off 12th will the board have the balls to act? To be fair TF can't be the oracle to make that decision given what's happened. I don't like the Premiership much either. We are miles and miles away from being equipped to cope. We keep hearing about bigger grounds, more fans etc. But the consistent mistake is the lack of ability to get the product right on the pitch. Last time it was because the players brought in didn't have the mentality or any real care to see us survive, this time it is about an ageing coaching team being caught out week after week by younger guns on the touchlines with better and brighter ideas. How much would you like to see Dyche at Rangers? For me he's doing miracles with far less resources at Burnley.
