Dale Set To Sign Moulden
Wednesday, 12th Jul 2023 15:03 by Chaff

No, it's not 1995 again, and we're not set to sign Paul Moulden, but we are set to sign his son on loan.

Rochdale have finally signed a goalkeeper! Or are about to at least. Wolves keeper Louie Moulden is set to join Dale on loan according to reports coming out of the Midlands:

Louie Moulden is the son of former Rochdale forward Paul Moulden for those of us old enough to remember him in the mid 90’s.

The 21-year-old keeper joins Dale on loan having had previous loan spells with Ebbsfleet, our opening day opponents and Solihull Moors. He played 17 games for Ebbsfleet during the second half of the 2021/22 season and spent the first half of last season at Solihull playing 16 games in that time.

Moulden came up through the Manchester City academy, a bit like his Dad but left City to join Wolves back in July 2021 but had spent a short time at Gloucester City on loan from City before that.

I know his two brothers slightly through work and if he's anything like them he'll be a credit to the club. He'll also surely be the first third generation footballer to appear for us.
