![]() Wednesday, 11th Feb 2009 08:19 Roberto Martinez was full of praise for Gorka Pintado after the striker finally underwent his operation this week The Swansea City striker will be out of action for around a month after undergoing the knife this week and Roberto was very quick to talk up his attitude after delaying the operation on more than one occasion. Speaking to the Evening Post, the Swans boss said "To have Gorka lasting as long as he did before the operation just shows you the attitude and determination of my players "The willingness to help the team is unbelievable and I think everyone should know that Gorka deserves huge credit. "He has had to play with huge pain and train with huge pain but he did it for the team. "It's that sort of attitude which allows clubs to be successful and that's why it's so important to have players with the right mentality. "We couldn't hold it off any longer and we felt this was a good time for Gorka to have the operation," Martinez added. "He will come back hopefully for Charlton and he will be like a new player for us. "We don't want to get anyone injured, but we never want anyone to get injured "I looked around last Saturday and there were good players who were disappointed not to be involved. We have players waiting for a chance and that's a great position to be in." Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
