A Letter To Rory Fallon............

Dear Rory,

Following Sunday's game v Walsall, I was disgusted by some of our 'fans' attitudes in booing you following your miss at the far post in the first half. So appalled was I that I feel it is my duty as a fan to apologise to you for their short-sightedness and lack of faith in you.

I would like to put it on record that I am still 100% behind Kenny Jackett signing you and fully supportive of your playing ability. I know you give 110% every time you step onto the pitch and don the white shirt and that given a little luck you will produce the goods and become a valuable asset to this team and football club in getting us to where we belong in the higher echelons of the Football League. It is for all to see that you get yourself into goal-scoring positions and have been unlucky thus far not to have scored your first of hopefully many in the white of Swansea. As long as you keep getting into such positions and continue to reproduce your work rate game after game, I believe this elusive first goal will come sooner rather than later.

As for the fans that vented their anger at your unfortunate miss, I cannot understand where they are coming from. It is acceptable that they may feel a little frustrated however to vent it in the manner they did is totally unacceptable, and I would like to apologise to you for having to receive such abuse. Their torrent of abuse was unnecessary and went way beyond showing frustration. Indeed I believe that some harbour the desire that you do not succeed so that they can have their scapegoat. It is my shame that I sit amongst them in the stands and have to put up with their insolence week in week out when they cannot grasp the reality of the situation. It is my belief that you can and will silence these people and show them for the fools that they are in doubting your ability and contribution to the team.

Once again, I wish to apologise for their unacceptable behaviour and once again reiterate my belief that you can and will score many goals for the Swans in the coming weeks and for seasons thereafter. Keep trying and you will succeed.

Yours sincerely,

Jon Osterland
