Reading's Winning Run Ends Tuesday, 13th Mar 2012 22:02
Reading showed they are not all conquering after drawing at Doncaster Rovers tonight.
The 1.1 draw at The Keep Moat whilst raising Reading above West Ham by a point leaves them still two points behind Saints having now used up their game in hand, this now leaves them probably needing to win at least one more game than Saints in the final ten matches.
Saints task now is to go on another winning run themselves and turn the screw on both Reading as well as West Ham who are now under extreme pressure themselves to win their own game in hand, it can't be stressed enough how important a Saints win at Millwall now is, in that a win could really open up a gap if the two chasing teams were to slip up themselves.
Although there is a long way to go Saints definitely scored a psychological advantage tonight it would be rude go waste it.

Also, losses by Cardiff and Birmingham tonight have underlined that it is any two from three.

It's ours to win we just have to get clinical now as we did last season

Nothing like putting pressure on! though you are right of course. One to watch is Hull. We face them next week and they won't be easy. They are stingy in defence and clinical without being pretty. We could really do with some strong support despite it being a mid week game.

Apart from Hull a good night for Saints, Reading have 2 more away matches to come as do we. Next week away to Hull is huge as is every game now to end of the season. I wish I could attend each game as being in the ground is a better feeling than listening to radio or watching on tv. Being there gives more sense of commitment and sharing the passion.

To win at Hull , Boro & Blackpool is going to be difficult. Reality says we will lose at least one of those difficult fixtures perhaps two. Wins at Millwall & Peterboro are imperetive plus a point at Palace. Thats 7 which put together with 4 home wins would be 19 points. Plenty enough me thinks.

I think 87 points will get promotion. My half season prediction requires us to win 7, but can't see that happening unless we really up our game. It's one a piece in league and cup this season with Millwall, although the latter was with a weakened side. They're really not a good side and if we play like we can we will win this one. It's just a case of us coming out of the blocks from the start. Can't see Reading doing anything other than winning their game and West Ham game looks a tough one. We'll need to win to stay top this weekend.

87 points means that we need five wins and three draws out of ten, that would mean Reading getting six wins and three draws out of their ten, or West ham getting six wins and four draws out of eleven, every win we can chalk of puts the pressure on them

All of a sudden it is Hull? It was Brum, then Leeds, Leicester, then Boro, etc......the thing to learn here is that they have all had their day and their for but who is still there at the top?

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Middlesbrough Polls |
