Refwatch Preview: Luton (h) Friday, 21st Nov 2008 06:03 Walsall official Steve Bratt makes his third Spotland appearance at Saturday’s game against Luton. We last saw him for our first home league game of last season when Dale went down 2-1 to Chester, while his only other visit was in October 2006 for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy game against Crewe, which the visitors won 2-0 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Steve was also in the middle at Wrexham in September 2006 when two Chris Dagnall goals gave Dale a 2-1 win.
We would have also seen him at Spotland for our last home game of that season against Hartlepool, only for them to sulk to the Football League that he came from Walsall, whom Pool were challenging with for the title.
The FL backed down, Bratt was replaced and Dale won 2-0 anyway. Oh, the replacement referee also have us two penalties, sent off two Hartlepool players and then reported them to the FA.
Mr Bratt’s last Luton game came 11 months ago when they were beaten 1-0 at Cheltenham.
This season he has been in charge of 11 games, showing 30 yellow cards and two red, although he hasn’t refereed since October 21st when he was in the middle for Peterborough’s 0-0 draw with Brighton.
