| Forum Reply | Is Andrew Coleman on the brink with Williams and the new investors ? at 09:37 19 Jan 2025
When I found out that the main money man from the U.S. was a swans nut it naturally followed that Williams didn’t have any cover for failure. These people want the team to succeed and with him as manager there is absolutely no hope with that. I’d be surprised if they played chicken with him to avoid paying out his contract - that would be cutting off our nose to spite our face and for how much money? It can’t be a huge amount, certainly the prospect of relegation would be far more costly. The trick is to get someone in who isn’t going to need paying out ie a good manager not a hit and hope on someone from the lower leagues with a good power point presentation. |

Limited vocabulary limited talent . Repeats short and sideways passes too |

Every managerial appointment is important but for us now it’s critical to get the right person in. Let’s look abroad and see who’s available - hopefully an ex player who’s done something while playing and with tactical acumen and flexible playing systems. Someone who like Laudrup played the possession game with lightening quick counters. |

According to Rob Phillips it was a selll out? They only sell out when we’re in town. Or Tan offers them more money to play in Red lol |

I was wondering about the appointment of Mark Jones as coach with more than a little trepidation- he seems to be doing all the right things. The side look much more energized and dynamic and not so much ball up the jumper. The final try was a joy to watch. Some good new backs in the side - if we could copy Cardiff Blues creativity we’d be a very dangerous side indeed. Going to the Arms Park , losing a man before half time and drawing (though we should have won) showed a definite change. |

Chambers playing CDM instead of full back seems to have transformed Cardiffs play. Key could do the same for us. He’s far more forward thinking than Grimes and actually carries the ball forward well. |

I think there’s a balance to be struck - we can be a bit more adventurous than we have been with managers - the other choice is to keep on hiring inexperienced managers and when they don’t come off we spend loads on compo. Best going for slightly more expensive options who could get a decent tune out of the squad. If that happens we could allow him more money for players . |

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that’s very true. Nobody else is going to lay down for them like that so hopefully they’ll still get relegated |

What a few weeks it will be for him - on the brink of the West Brom job one week then (hopefully) sacked a week or so later. He’s no coach - Bellamy has made a huge improvement on Cullen - I can’t say Williams has improved even one of our players. |

I can’t really comment as I was driving home listening to the game - that was hard enough! I did hint that the manager was on borrowed time as soon as the new owners came in - if they don’t sack him after Pompey and this we are really in trouble as it points to a paralysis in our decision making process. I was hoping this wouldn’t be the case now Silverstein and all have gone - we need to get this sorted asap and some of the players need a rocket, Ronald and Eom for two. Grimes getting pelters and about time too - hiding when we are three down. You need courage and leadership from a captain in this situation not cowardice. We need someone from abroad to get us playing on the front foot again and no possession for possessions sake nonsense. |

I think his physicality helps us as we are rather midgety all round. Colin MacDonald would excel in this side and he was a pure bred miniature footballer |
