| News Comment | Are The Rams A Force Awoken Or Just A Phantom Menace? at 05:23:17
Hi brob. The whole article was a bit tongue in cheek and i did say 'arguably' but there is no doubt the tackling in that game was a bit close to the line - whether or not they directly affected Will. You are welcome to your opinion and feel free to take the comments as seriously as you like.... :) Cheers for your feedback! |
| News Comment | The Weston Report: Maybe He's Saving It For The Playoffs!? at 00:28:54
All fixed now moose! :) I struggle at the best of times without having to get names right as well. Especially when we have the nerve to have two players with the same surnames. I put it down to still being upset that our Chris has had a ''Conscious Uncoupling'' with that lovely Gwenyth - I am amazed he even has time to play for Derby! ;) lol |
| News Comment | All Or Nothing - The Unbearable Build Until Burnley! at 11:46:52
Well it was meant tongue in cheek in terms of the unbearable wait till an important fixture. In terms of by the time it comes round the importance feels like life or death. In saying that, I genuinely believe this result will shape a lot of what comes after as a win will have confidence sky high for the run home. A bad loss like the Leicester match could be damaging so for me it's a must win/draw. |
| News Comment | Bill's Take - Bland 'Pride Park' In Need Of A New Name! at 01:45:45
How about Clough's Colosseum or Clough's Cauldron - looks back to our finest moments as a club and is also current. Even when Nigel leaves it still has deep meaning and would really annoy that red mob down the road. For that reason alone it would be worth it! :) |
| News Comment | Paul Finds Grass Is Greener At Pride Park... For Now! at 22:14:15
You could very well be correct Paul. Just hard to know as even if Green was being reasonable it seems GSE are only interested in budget and or bargain signings with similar wages. His comments in the press don't sound like he is holding the club to ransom and I suppose as a full international he can command a decent wage. All in all I am just happy we have him till seasons end and if need be we can go shopping in the off - even if it is at a pound shop ;0) lol. |
| News Comment | What I.Saw - 'We Felt Cheated, Pure & Simple' at 13:14:17
Research does not need to come into how one feels a match or decision unfolded. I think it's a shame that what could be constructive criticism becomes insulting with a "before one opens ones mouth" snipe. It would be nice if people were as willing to get involved and submit their own articles rather than take snide jibes. But the first is obviously easier.... shame. Brilliant work I.Saw, you need explain nothing. Great report as always! :) |
| News Comment | RamBites: Clough Not Qualified For Forest - Go Pearo, Go Deano, Go! at 15:00:30
Connex - a successful top flight player is usually enough for a player to manage at a high level without much or any experience. Not really a valid argument to be honest and the stories of NC applying before Billy were denied by Nigel. Davram. We give the story time as it is news and frankly it was a story simply to bash the ridiculous nature of the stories being rolled out. Feel free to contribute something to the site to help fill the gaps if you would prefer something less 'vacuos' :) |
| News Comment | RamBites: Clough Not Qualified For Forest - Go Pearo, Go Deano, Go! at 23:47:53
We are glad Connex. Why would you want one of your club legends to return to you when he has proven more than capable of operating on a next to nothing budget. Doing that and not getting relegated was an achievement in itself. Climbing to 3rd this season without a quarter of the money wee Billy had is another achievement in itself! But of course we wouldn't expect to respect a man who did so much for your club - instead your lot sing songs about his mother! All class- hence he wouldn't come near ur joint! :) |
| News Comment | After Super Start - Clough Needs Support Not Broken Promises! at 14:49:35
Sigh.... I thought I explained myself with what i meant with the Varney comment but obviously not well enough. Also I don't remember writing anything about spending big and I am not beating anyone with any stick. Clough said he needed at least two more signings - Glick said he would get Clough at least a couple more signings - Glick said we would get a Director of football! Am I asking for anything that has not been promised? Is it unreasonable to expect the manager who gets a regular flogging should get support and the signings he is promised? At no time did I say spend big. The club needs to be sensible financially but at the same time the job is still not finished in the transfer market - the job that they outlined themselves! It is time for the club to stop nearly doing the job and push forward especially when they have sucha good foundation to build on. Can you imagine where we may have ended up last season if Hulse and Commons had never been sold. Those two players alone would have made a massive difference to the near unstoppable slide we experienced. But that was part of the "budget" policy which only resulted in us nearly being relegated and had the fans calling for the Manager's head. My whole point is let's not allow that to happen again and deliver the final pieces he needs to build on what is a start all clubs would kill for. Don't need to spend big - or perhaps not even spend - just DO SOMETHING!!! :) |
| News Comment | After Super Start - Clough Needs Support Not Broken Promises! at 00:29:07
Without getting into a debate Dav the 'profit' from Varney was simply meant in terms of actually making some money from his transfer - it was not meant in the overall scheme of what he was bought for. Sorry if I did not clarify. I understand why he was sold but that whole situation stunk of cloak and dagger and the club not being 100% honest about why he wasn't being played - until VERY late in proceedings. And to say I devalue the current crop of players and their work - as I said they must be applauded. I am only stating that what was promised was not exactly delivered - the fact these players are performing brilliantly does not change that fact. So because we are doing well I cannot point out the fact that the players brought in were not exactly as what we were told we were going to get? I am over the moon with the way the team are putting in and Nigel should be appreciated for his shrewd moves and selections. That does not change the fact he wants a couple more proven players and doesn't seem to be backed by the board after such a great start. I feel you are looking for a debate where there is none - this article is about how the money had to be spent and how much - not attacking individual signings or the players ability - by constantly praising Clough in the article surely that in turn means he has got the best from whom he has brought in? It is also about our as yet undelivered 'director of football' who could have assisted in moving on players and helping free up wages for the players Clough needs. Again not an attack on our chargers on the field. If I wanted to give compliments to the individual players I would write an article about the players and their performance - which has been stunning. This is simply about investment and promised further signings still un-delivered. I have been glowing of the players and their on-field actions in two match reports I have written in the last two weeks. Your aim is slightly off Dav as I agree with your points - yet I feel my article was never alluding to any of the things you are pulling me up on. Hopefully this explanation serves as enough of a 'please explain' but I feel we are on the same side here and you have read between the lines a bit too much :) |
| News Comment | Rams 2 Brummagem 1 - Thoughts from yesterday's match at 12:56:12
I think that was a bit tongue in teek Zhabba as he went on to list the injuries right down to leacock. He went on to be quite complimentary of the guy. He was also complimentary of Croft but re-iterated he needed to do that week in - week out to keep his spot. I think his dry humour can be taken as a clip sometimes .... but there are definitely times he says before he thinks... but dont we all! :) |
| News Comment | Clough Confirms Romantic Riggot Return Is On The Cards! at 01:49:01
Agree davram - if nothing else he is 'massive' as a feel good signing for the fans. By far the best public relations move of the GSE era! And i doubt it was even planned that way - good work Nigel! :) |
| News Comment | Is Nigel Clough The Man For The Rams? - The Stats So Far! at 11:00:28
Agreed Mick. Great article and a real eye opener in terms of how much rope the club has given Nigel in terms of time against results. So far it seems a Clough or Taylor alone cannot make it at the Rams. Perhaps Peter Taylor (the other one) as assistant manager now he is available would be a good idea ;0) |
