Actually the post was from 2020.... It was one of the first posts I ever made on this site so I remember it well. |

I've a long memory... This was an opinion I posted on the Derry/Young situation which whilst you may not agree with it was posted politely and without being rude. The context, btw way, was a claim that Ashley Young taking a easy dive was worst than what Man City had done in ruining football and we shouldn't still be celebrating them winning the league that season. "Agueroooooooo! on 11:37 - May 14 by St_Pollock Derry put his hands on him, he took advantage. If the former doesn't happen then he doesn't go down. Our players would have done exactly the same. Even if you despise diving - and that equates to not celebrating any dubious penalties in our favour because if you do that is a clear admission that you're a hypocrite - Ashley Young doing what he did can not seriously be compared to what Man City have done. I honestly find it embarrassing that QPR fans are still happy to celebrate what City 'achieved'." This was NorthernR's less than polite response. "Right hang on a minute here dicksplat. I'm smelling a bit of a rat with this steadfast defence of Man Utd. Anybody who's ever seen a football game before who comes up with any remote defence of that Ashley Young penalty needs to have a long hard look in a very big mirror. 1 - It's not a fcking penalty. Watch the replay and don't give me all this hands on him bollox. It's not a penalty. Even if you're not a QPR fan and your heart strings aren't tugged by the idea of a modern day club legend getting sent off on the day he captained the club at Old Trafford, and how proud that made the family of a journeyman footballer, it's still not a fcking penalty. I've never met a single person, QPR or otherwise, or heard a pundit suggest anything other than this was a dive and a dreadful refereeing decision. Even my died in the wool Man Utd mate laughs and admits it was a joke decision. Hands on him my arse. 2 - He's two fcking yards offside anyway. Even if Derry had pulled out a gun and shot him straight in the back of his cheating skull, it was still our free kick. 3 - Lee Mason was the referee. He was also chairman of the Bolton referee's association. He was also a Bolton Wanderers season ticket holder. His brother also played for Bolton Wanderers. He wasn't allowed to referee Bolton matches because it would have been akin to letting me referee QPR matches. And yet he was allowed to referee our game at a point when it was between us and them for the final relegation spot. It was as bent as football gets in this country. Hands on him indeed. Get in the fcking sea." Add that to his continuous defense of a certain woman who associates herself with this club and it's hard to like him for me. If he wants to ban me simply for not liking him as a person that's up to him. But I won't pretend to. I have met him in person a few times and thought him unlikeable, I have already stated on here that I find his articles boring and he's not as funny as he thinks and I wont pretend otherwise. I also think he needs to re-evaluate the importance QPR holds in his life. However, he runs the most active QPR message board on the web and I want to discuss QPR on occasions. If he wants to ban me for not liking him that's his prerogative but I won't pretend to hold different opinions just to soothe any ego he has or to 'fit in' here. Have a good afternoon. |

Ha ha, nah I just happened to find myself next to him. Bald men whose raison d'etre is QPR never did it for me 😬 |

That may be your favourite method of getting laid, but definitely not mine so can guarantee that you weren't followed in there... 👠|

I stood next to you by the SAR bog hand basins as we both washed our hands prior to the Nottingham Forest match and thought that you looked grumpier than normal... You had no idea who I was either. [Post edited 11 Jan 2022 13:54]

Erm, no... To avoid confusion I'm saying that those with more emotional attachment to QPR than others may form different opinions ... For example, a single man who has nothing else in his life apart from QPR may form opinions that are different to someone with a greater amount of interests... [Post edited 11 Jan 2022 13:14]

If you're suggesting that anyone in this thread currently has 2 active accounts that they are using to amplify their arguments on this thread please provide proof. On the other hand, it could be that people who don't go to every QPR game and have lives and wives away from Loftus Road might just not see things the same way as those who don't... Let's prove that there isn't a clique with accepted mantras by down voting a post making a point we don't agree with but are not wiling to argue against.... [Post edited 11 Jan 2022 12:21]

I went to see the Vienna New Year's Day concert a few years ago and that brought back some great memories. So thank you. You're unlikely to have been to anything of that ilk as it doesn't involve QPR x |

You're right, there is no reason for anyone to click on a thread that they don't want to read and I find it odd that people do. However, please don't have the audacity to come here and say that there isn't a clique and an accepted mantra..... You, for one, had a ridiculous meltdown when I once suggested that Shaun Derry was exposed for the journeyman footballer he was when he put his hands on Ashley Young and many others accused me of not being a QPR fan for daring to hold such an opinion... |

" I would like to see Austin move more into a coaching role with the club next year " I know many will disagree with this but I want him away from this club sooner rather than later. He seems mentally out of control at the moment and although some fans found his antics after the goal at Bristol City funny, it is not how our players should be acting when representing the club and I don't want that kind of behaviour spreading to youngsters coming through the ranks. It wasn't an isolated incident either. Charlie Austin the man is incredibly unlikable at times and I don't want players acting like that. |

He's nowhere near Club legend status. Iconic from this era? Yep, I'd probably agree to that but up there with the Pantheon of QPR legends? Sorry, only for youngsters who know no better. "I notice also that you didn't comment on the irony of using a user name that refers to a former player whilst moaning at caring about former players." Only just noticed this to be honest, Yes, that is hypocritical. |

"See all the down votes on your comments and the up votes on all the others. That's means everyone's down voted your comments." That's because there's a clique on here. Anyone who dares to go against the accepted mantras will find out. "Pray tell, ye of such high intelligence - if he's not a product of the QPR youth academy then was Eze signed as a full time first team pro?" Eze was a product of the Millwall Youth system and a success of our scouting system. I also find it odd that fans want to follow his each and every step when he's not a club legend but each to their own. |

Although I'm not on Facebook I did read what the club said. I still didn't agree with the notion presented by the club and still think it is flawed. I have a right to not like it too. Do you know what, sometimes people will express different opinions and you just have to accept that. The only thing we are guaranteed to have in common is that we declare ourselves to be QPR fans. I may have some opinions you agree with: The '76 team is the greatest side never to win the title Warburton has us playing some of the best football we've seen at Loftus Road for a long while Clive Wilson should have had an England call up I also have opinions which you may disagree with: I think Charlie Austin is an unlikeable idiot I think the real QPR died in 2008 and although this is a fair forgery it is still a tribute act The club has become a 'woke' embarrassment You see, that's what life is about, forming your own opinions and message boards are platforms to discuss such thoughts so people can express their views not always from a position of trying to change others' views but just to get something of your chest or have 'your say'. This is my only active account, Norf can confirm that, but I have had aborted attempts to join the forum before. I gave up every time because of the rudeness of posters who disagreed with my views and, on one previous attempt, constant accusations that I wasn't a QPR fan because I occasionally went against the accepted gospels and mantras on here. I have no interest in joining the clique here. I don't agree with all the opinions which have been accepted as gospel truth or the various mantras, I don't think Norf's articles are that good and find his style boring and very unfunny, I don't think Saxbend's songs are funny but I don't think I should pretend to either on any of those. The only thing we are guaranteed to have in common is that we declare ourselves QPR fans. That's the end of the rant. |

You're left baffled by no-one questioning how good Fenwick was? Read the thread back through.... The only debating points made were: 1) Should we pretend to forget the abuse Fenwick received whenever he returned including some which was horrendous. 2) Whether or not the Forever Rs treats past players too equally. Anything else you think you read to leave you baffled is completely your own fault for not reading the thread properly. |
