Would love to know just how close we got to sacking Marti. The majority of the fan base continued to be behind him throughout which was refreshing, and I like to think a factor. I hope that's a real sliding doors moment for us as we look to the future. |

8 points above the drop zone, 8 points off the playoffs. The sweet embrace of mid table. It feels so good. |

Didn't see much in that initially, thought we just lost the man (which we did) but looked like Nardi was fouled on the replay |

Dust off the old song! Must be hard to live up to the reputation when your dad was the most influential person in the history of the world. |

I feel the same I'm coming around to jjm. He's got the same flaws he's always had but the things he was good at he's now great at. He can be frustrating still but he's a better player than he was 2 years ago and holding his place on merit at the moment. |

Excellent cross, excellent movement by Field, excellent header. Could get used to this! |

Historically we have always been an oddball club beating the good teams and losing to ones we shouldn't. It's actually refreshing to be able to beat bad teams. |

Some nice touches there Morgan especially but that was always going to happen. At some point get rid, can't afford to give away chances like that |

I quite liked him, thought when he joined there was some potential there. But he seems to be going backwards and his defending is just getting worse and worse. Yesterday was absolutely horrific. At most optimistic perspective, he needs a rest at worst he needs to leave. Unfortunately neither is an option. |

This sounds like a cop out, but I'm sure the fact we had to drag the players out of bed early and up to north Wales, the day after Christmas day when none of them wanted to leave their families, probably didn't help. Barring Plymouth, Swansea away on boxing day is probably the one fixture we didn't want. Yes they are professionals, yes they are paid for this (very well) but mentally it only takes one or two of them to be at 90% instead of 100% and it's going to make a difference. |

I don't think your opinions are inflammatory, but I do think that the tone you convey them with is inflammatory and bordering on condescension. Your original post and this reply being cases in point. This is of course a free world. You are welcome to post with whatever tone you wish. |

If you think Marti is the problem with this club right now then I don't know what to tell you. He got it wrong today, he's got it wrong many times this year. But he's also had many occasions where he has got us playing above our ability level too. He's doing more good than bad. This idea that seems to be permeating our society where everyone or everything has to be in the "he's the best ever" or "he's the worst ever" bucket is crazy to me. Marti is a good manager. He's done more good than bad, if he wasn't here for one reason or another we'd be much more likely to get someone worse than someone better. On that basis, we should be happy he's here and be backing him. Don't think it has to be more complicated than that? |
