Tonight's sequence of results involving teams towards the bottom of the table, further highlights the crass decision to allow Celar to take Saturday's penalty. Deserved or not, we could have won that game if that penalty were scored with Cardiff next.

Well done to you all. Hope the team's performance matches your incredible devotion to the Rangers' cause.

I take your point entirely. However, why heighten the risk further. Our position in the league is parlous already. Madsen would have been less of a risk in that particular situation, as according to the latest match report, he has successfully converted his last 13 penalties.

One confident penalty taker: 13/13, versus another player totally shorn of confidence, and we see it fit to allow the latter to take a crucial penalty. That's being charitable.

His confidence is shot. All the more reason why the designated penalty taker, Madsen, should have taken it, especially after scoring the last one alongside our inability to score in open play. We could have won the game if it's converted.

It's professional sport, it's ruthless and there should definitely be no place for sentiment. Instead, Charity Park Rangers spurned an excellent opportunity to score which would have taken us to being just three points behind Cardiff.

Totally agree. The appointed penalty taker, Madsen, was on the pitch and it had to be him taking it after scoring the last one. Cook had to intervene, if a set-to ensued so be it. Madsen should have insisted on taking it too, and if it meant him literally preventing Celar from taking it, he should have done it.

There should never be any time for sentiment, especially when rooted to the bottom of the table. It was very unprofessional and that moment highlighted for me just how rudderless that team is.

If Brum were to lose that game, then that's the end of their current manager.

Totally agree, his record at this level is up there with the very best. Only natural finishers can conjure up goals, on occasions, out of virtually nothing. Neither of those goals is scored by your run-of-the mill centre forward.

Well done Rooney on the signing which is at minimal risk to Plymouth, as the initial deal only runs until January. Three goals in just two starts and three substitute appearances is an excellent return on what some may view as a risky signing. A view clearly not held by Rooney.

Over to you now Celar.

They are clearly as chaotic a club as we are. However, to have signed V Johansson, a Swedish international, championship experienced/hardened and still only 26, for less than £1 million, is an excellent piece of business on their part.

Clearly your thoughts in the guise of Warbs.

"Pals" in the case of Ferdinand being code for ..... [

Pity you failed to insert "pals" where it's most apposite. That's in the context of Nourry and his close family/friends being appointed into certain key positions, some with no discernible experience for the roles they now occupy.

In spite of the fact that our best defender is still missing; no real creativity, Saito aside; and we have failed to score more than one goal in a game for the best part of three months, we have to win again at some point. It will happen on Saturday.

Mark Warburton interview
at 19:20 17 Nov 2024

Totally agree. A half-fit Willock is streets ahead of Andersen. It's pretty clear that Andersen only looked as good as he did from February to the end of last season, because Willock and Chair were playing alongside him for most of the time and either/or both of them were double marked whenever they had the ball, making it a lot easier for Andersen.

Fast-forward this season and in their absence, it was incumbent on Andersen, as the senior attacking midfielder, to take the lead role. Sadly, he has been abject and his performances have been way worse than Willock's worst from last season.

One difference, in spite of performing at levels well below Willock's, Andersen has largely escaped criticism-free when compared to the torrents directed at Willock; ranging from his "attitude" being constantly called into question alongside matters away from the football pitch being thrown in for good measure.

Are you serious!? Wow. I never knew that we have reportedly paid that much for two players who have never played at a level that can be deemed as being championship equivalent.

Is this season written off already?
at 19:02 9 Nov 2024

Yes. we're firmly anchored to the bottom. We were handed a decent run of home games against sides that will probably finish in the lower reaches and we couldn't win a game. WBA and Middlesbrough being notable exceptions. We had the majority of our better players available for most of those games too.

Many of the mid-table sides are on the cusp of the top six and will all fancy their chances against us, especially at Loftus Road when the onus is on us to at least show some semblance of attacking intent.

He'd get in comfortably He's still better than Andersen whose performances this season have been far worse than Willock's worse. Yet in spite of providing zero assists this season, Kolli has managed one in far fewer minutes, his attitude isn't called into question.

Dembele, Chair, JCS all “weeks away”
at 09:26 8 Nov 2024

Respectfully, the occurrence of some of those injuries arising were reasonably foreseeable: Fox and JCS. So was Colback's propensity to miss games through suspensions and now injury. It was therefore vital that some more championship-savvy/experienced players were acquired in the summer to fill those inevitable voids.

You then allow your back-up left-back/wing-back to go out on a season's loan to Dundee Also allow Kakay to leave, who when compared to Ashby and that waste of space Santos, is of a higher grade in both the number of games he has played at championship level and playing ability as an understudy. Before joining us, Ashby had barely played 10 games at this level and he's 22!

In essence, we didn't need to sign inferior and/or inexperienced players like Santos or Ashby. Kakay had his faults but they were far fewer than the two we've subsequently signed, and he was hardly haemorrhaging the club with his salary. The only signings that appear to make sense are: Nardi - not his biggest fan, but understand it; Saito and Dembele. I haven't seen enough of Morrison yet. All the others aren't either good enough/or near ready for the championship.

Contrast our dud signings to some of those made by Oxford and Millwall. Louie Sibley (free), Vaulks (free), Brannagan (not a signing per se, but should have been picked up by a championship side a long time ago). Langstaff (£750K), Azeez (free). Not all of them are regular starters, but some of those as alternatives to the dross that we have signed, would have significantly strengthened our bench.

Alongside the greater amount paid out to Joey Barton over the same duration, who from memory slagged off Warnock, the club in general, was instrumental in Warnock's sacking and when he deigned to play for us, got sent-off a lot and of course, spent a year out in France. Otherwise, he was an exemplary professional.

For mine, he cost us a lot more in wages, but wasn't any better than Karl Henry. The Man City 2-2 draw in which we had Henry and Sandro in central midfield being a case in point.

SWP and Barton, both signed by Warnock.
