Thought it was a pen too, which if scored would have made it 1-1 at half-time and a different second half. With it being 1-0 Wealdstone attacked a bit in the second half, so much so in fact that Waller got to handle the ball and go route 1, to Hendo for the game decider. Had it been 1-1 we would most likely have spent the second half camped around their box once more. This was the patten for pretty much the first half, and without wanting to sound negative after a 4-1 win, the lack of creativity/killer pass/movement or whatever is deemed needed to sneak through in this scenario was missing once again. That aside a good performance and results gone our way a good bit. |

Just seen the winner from TA on youtube and his goal celebration. Was wondering if it was possibly a reference to eating/Ramadan which adds another dimension to players match readiness for BJ to consider. |

Would love to see a heat map of East/Gilmour today. Deeper than Barry White for 95% of the match. Tactic was to go long from the back, but we did so retaining our play it out from the back formation. Consequently when Waller kicked it forward, Hogan was on the 6 yard line, East and Gilmour were 5 yards from our box and Mitchell was as isolated as a transgender individual at a Trump rally. Mitchell got hardly anything out of the excellent Tavares (25) but on the odd chance he did win, or at least inconvenience Tavares, there was nobody near. Second ball = Barnet ball. It had obviously been decided to abandon our play it out style today, maybe because Barnet are fast, strong, powerful pressing team, maybe due to crowd pressure (TDS nearly asphyxiates each time we don’t hoof it) but it failed miserably today. Looked collectively a bit lost today - here’s hoping they can find their mojo soon. |

Passed on the circle one. Made it to final but couldn’t crack the code. Junior will be having a go at it tomorrow and is very excited to see thee on it. Ps definitely easier at home, colleague was on a while back, told me how long winded, tense the day is. Double filming so Lee can crack a joke second take etc [Post edited 22 Feb 23:06]

Post match notes from the away game. Please don’t gift Barnet a goal in the first 5 minutes by playing it out from the back unsuccessfully. Please hit a barn door numerous times when presented. Please remember Ian Henderson is quicker in brain than most defenders are in foot. |

Kept Halifax to an early 1v1 and the clumsy penalty.. Aside from that they had no chances No real major chances for us of note either, despite our lions share of the possession. Decent away point if considered in isolation. |

The lack of creativity against a deep sitting defence has been evident since the start of the season. The inability to have a shot v Forest Green after going 1-0 down The loss to Dagenham and total stale-mate until their long throw tactic worked. The lesson in football from Oldham on Tuesday The ineffectiveness v Ebsfleet today. For the occasional Yeovil performance the main is of lesses fayre. Early on in the season the Aldershot manager apologised for their defeat by saying he got it wrong v Rochdale by playing an open game. Looks like the methodology works for even the poorest teams v Dale now. The formation is that of Gareth Southgate’s. 2 holding midfielders in East and Gilmour. They were so deep for the first half it was almost a back 7. The substitutes were like for like, the formation remained the same. In the first few minutes we got a throw in under the main stand. We ambled up, allowed the opposition to all get set in their position. I mention this because we got a throw in at the same position in the second half. They had a lad who was off for 30 seconds injury wait. We wasted 20 seconds and he was back on when we took the throw. Small moments but summed up today. From the first minute we played with no urgency or burning desire to impose ourselves on the opposition. Slow methodical stuff. The moos at the end were loud and the Sandy mostly emptied before the players got there for first time i can recall this season. |

Draw and a win on penalties would put us through i think. It’s there to win, go win it attitude. Even if only 400 or so of us watch it. |

This reads as though it is a subjective decision by a ref, that was not expected. It would be interesting to know if the ref decided on safety grounds or playability grounds. If not on safety grounds, would be likewise good to know if he consulted both managers before deciding game off. If the latter, it will be on the lack of bounce for sure. That corner had little bounce v Stoke U21 and Yeovil. The area is right in the corner and if both managers were ok then should be on. If safety however then that’s poor versus ‘no pitch inspection planned’ Terribly sorry for all fans , especially the Boston fans. Free entry or something for the rematch would be the least we could do. |

Very good today. Ayinde man of match but a very big shout out for Okeke who i think Yeovil will be glad not to play against again this season. |

Central area looked fine throughout, but corner near police control looked dead and i assume is one of the areas to be verti-drained from tomorrow. Has certainly been an area of concern previous seasons. Decent run out for many. Thought Berger had a good game, solid all over the park. Stoke caused us more concern before the sending off than after but that could be down to their substitutes too. No injuries, good fitness session for those that needed it. Beat Wolves and cheer on Man U to progress! |
