Maybe if he didn't come across as so intransigent and bloody-minded he might get more sympathy? Playing Stephens and tippy tappy doesn't help. The glaring example of Burnley last season should be a salutory lesson for him - but Martin knows best and everyone else is wrong. |

Diaz (who I thought did really well putting himself about today - Including clattering that card happy tvvat of a ref big time) appeared to be ready to take it. The sort of mood he was in the ball would either have burst the net or landed on the Isle of Wight) until the hapless Archer took it from him. What a git. |

I'd give Martin until the end of this month unless he changes tactics dramatically, but as far as I know he has made no indication whatsoever that he is willing to adapt. Please tell me I'm wrong on that last point... |

How long did we give Nigel Adkins? If memory serves, he was doing better than Rylan is and was still dumped quite early... |

Also, in the 6-3, it should have been 6-2 as Scholes blatantly handballed for his goal, but this was well disguised with his back to the ref (I was in the Milton and it was a clear as day that he tapped the ball forward with his lower arm before putting it in the net). Ginger mufc fvck.* * I'm not biased against gingers per se, just man u... |

I agree. If he can't adapt then he should go - maybe give him another 5 games? As for last season, yes we got up but only just, for which he deserves a certain amount of credit. Although I do think the reality is that wasn't an unreasonable expectation given the squad he had and certainly not as impressive as what Ipswich achieved. |

That would make sense if it wasn't so abundantly obvious that his tactics are wrong. Right now, it's like he was captain of the Titanic and deliberately steering towards that iceberg whilst ignoring all warnings. It is possible to sack a manager and change things around, but I'd give him a little more time to improve - although I seriously fear he is too inflexible to do the obvious. |
| Forum Reply | Should Russell Martin be sacked after saying he won’t compromise? at 10:49 1 Sep 2024
I went for the 'give him until Christmas' option but ONLY because there was no 'give him one more month to mend his ways' choice. Basically, if he doesn't alter his cretinous intransigency over the next 2 or 3 games then sack him. Why can't he see what happened to Burnley? Either he's thick or myopically arrogant...I'm thinking a mixture of both! |

Unless he adapts and fast, he has to go. Mufc at home is going to be…interesting. |

I am beginning to seriously loathe this manager and his cretinous, piss-awful, stupid fvcking tactics. |

He knows the score (and usually it's 0-1!). Seriously though, he's played back up before to both Forster and Bazuna and come through. I'm surprised how young he is though. He did play well for the last half dozen games (Newcastle howler aside) and I'm happy or him to be our No 2... |
