Fair enough, I'm only repeating what has been said previously, as to whether they were preparing for the third tier we will never know, businesses do often explore worst case scenario rather than leave it till it's too late..... |

Well a number of times now Lassel has explained that his wife has a very senior position at Hammarby, is in charge of the finances or something along those lines. He also said that his wife is very good friends with Martis wife or partner I'm not sure if he's actually married, so it appears the information is coming via the ladies, it may be as good friends on WhatsApp who knows. Apologies if I have got that wrong but like you I was very sceptical initially but a lot of what he says does seem to ring true..... |

Now I can understand why combining the two jobs of CEO and DOF is a significant cost saving to the club and if you had the right person in the position with significant experience it could work. That person could set the overall strategy for the club ensure it is implemented and not have somebody else telling them to go in a different direction. However we don't have an experienced CEO and we are paying the price, the issues with recruitment have been highlighted in previews and reports, the imbalance of the squad and the debatable purchases which appear to have been purely analytical driven. We are currently competing against teams who understand the physicality of the Championship and if you can't match them then you are struggling before the kick off. It feels like the squads been put together by somebody sitting in front of a terminal looking at statistics and not trying to balance the needs of a squad that has to play sometimes 3 games in a week. The point was made by Kevin Gallen on the WLS podcast, the players from the overseas leagues do not have the same loading on the playing schedule and this can reflect in them not being so robust. Surely enough time has been given to see if the cost saving would work with only one man in charge and we now need to bite the bullet and get a DOF before it's too late. It may not even cost the club a fortune, if we can find a Senior person who has experience of the Championship then they could be employed part time. It would be a difficult appointment to make because they have to work in harmony with the CEO but that's for the board to sort out. There will possibly be cost savings with a reorganisation it happens in a lot of business when they are restructured, should we really be paying some bloke based in Dubai for consultancy. Made me smile thinking of Uncle Neil coming back on a part time basis, I think his time has gone but he knew how to put a squad together, that's what we need somebody who understands the demands of the physicality of the Championship and we recruit players who are robust and less prone to injury. |

It's now published on the Official, the Steve Cook one is interesting saying he is on course to rejoin team training next week in the build up to Cardiff whilst at the same time posting pictures of Cook heavily involved in team training, guess it's resting him from match action then which I understand. |

Definitely not ITK but West London Sport say that Varane and Lloyd are back in full training and available for tomorrow, Field appears to be close to a return and Chair will hopefully play again before the end of the season. They gave a list of the players still injured which didn't include Cook so I reckon he's probably available, that injury he sustained weeks ago should have kept him out a lot longer he's playing on through the pain. He should really be resting it fully, I would hazard a guess that once were mathematically safe then that's him finished for the season, I'm sure he would be more than happy to see Morrison get some more game time. Jeez your first post where you were guessing and then you double down on more guessing. The players were not available and had minor injuries why can you not accept that, it happens in training all the time, they work really hard and believe it or not it's a contact sport even in training. I'm guessing that Marti would have dearly loved both players to start yesterday and was very disappointed that he couldn't select a physically stronger team, we all know that's what's needed in the Championship. In Martis pre match interview I think it was he said Sam Fields out for a number of weeks which could mean we don't see him play again this year. He said he picked up an ankle injury in the Portsmouth game, spoke to Marti and asked if he could continue which he allowed him to do but then subbed him in the 68th minute, obviously because of the injury, just maybe if he had come off earlier he might not have such a bad injury. So I'm guessing what Marti doesn't want to happen is that a player with a minor injury starts a game and then that puts him out for the rest of the Season, we've just lost Field we can't afford for his replacement Varane to be out for a considerable amount of time just because we pushed him into playing and the same goes for Frey. We are all disappointed but considering where we were at the end of November it seems like we have generally made improvements, the important factor is we need to try and encourage Marti to stay with the club, he's been a breath of fresh air after a succession of Management disappointments. Frey and Varane didn't travel due to minor injuries, Marti said Sam Field got injured against Portsmouth but asked to carry on and Marti let him, I'm getting he's regretting that decision ..... |

Surely that all depends on what exactly the squad looks like when we start next season, so many players out of contract, some that we can happily release and others if they go will detract from the team that has been built this season. Another big Summer of contract negotiations and team building before we can start making predictions for next season...... |

Went on the Bondholder training ground tour yesterday, much delayed on my part because of Hospital and other commitments, anyway you may get your wish it looks as if Sutton was involved with the First team, Marti presumably wanting a good look..... Ps ....I was told it was Sutton as I wouldn't have recognised him..... |

Now I don't know the finer details of the rule book these days but from that video it was firstly premeditated and secondly he used his arm which caught him in the neck/face. My guess is that McLean was trying to stop Morgan but quite possibly was just sticking his arm out and didn't realise he had caught him that high up but surely it's no defence for a premeditated action. |
 | Forum Reply | McLean suspended for 4 matches at 08:54 11 Dec 2024
Thanks for posting we were not that far away, from where we were sitting but missed the incident itself. What we did watch was McLean bitching and moaning at Morgan after he had cleaned him out with his arm, now that I've seen the video, we didn't like what he was doing at the time, now we just know he's a very nasty piece of work.... Thanks so do we think that he is the poster Nico who posts on here occasionally, we are the club he has supported since he was a boy, he did some amazing work to get our fine reduced, not forgetting we were punished by the old FFP rules which were proved not fit for purpose. |

Agreed Cook will be 34 in April but hes got more football in him at Championship level yet, leads by example, also it would be criminal to let Jimmy Dunne leave on a free. |
