Indeed. I'm actuallly distraught. Dammit, this might spur them onto greater things, like actually winning a game of football. What have we done?

One of these days we're going to absolutely finish a home game with a full compliment of players on the pitch. Perhaps.

And before the inevitable outrage; yes, Carson made himself look an idiot. Yes, their players' reaction was OTT, and yes, until seeing it again it might have only been a yellow, but the blame lies at the feet of Curran who gave the ref a decision to make with yet another reckless challenge. We might not like the rules, but everyone knows them now - anything looking remotely dangerous runs the risk of a red card. He lost control of the ball and was never going to get it but challenged anyway.

Match thread on 21:21 - Oct 9 by DaleFan7 | Another stupid and needless challange leaving us with 10 men. |
Bollox, there was nothing in the challenge at all, no studs showing no feet up not even much of a coming together, it happened right in front of us and it warranted nothing more than a talking to, the reaction of the three Bury defenders who jumped on Curran and held him down and the keeper who was so injured he got up ran another 5 yards before going down as if shot.....Shocking antics by their keeper who should walk round with his head bowed in shame. Disgrace.

what stood out for me was that despite limping all over the place, there was never ever any suggestion that he wouldn't be taking the free kick. Of course, Curran made a rash challenge and if he hadn't done it,Carson couldn't play dead, but there didn't appear to be any contact at all.

Struggling to think of a Dale forward to contribute as little. We've had some bad ones, but the difference with Curran is that he doesn't even seem to be involved or most of the time. The word periphery was invented for such players. [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

You're spot on Col, there was hardly anything in it, I am absolutely fuming that he got Curran sent off with those antics. The ten men did ok and it probably made no difference to the result but it leaves a sour taste.

That could be the case, but Curran gave him the opportunity to react and the ref to choose a card.

Did carson wink at the fans after your player was sent off.Or is it Grant who dose that? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

More peripheral than MBH? Come to think of it, he'd have fitted into last year's forward line quite nicely: MBH Curran Bunn [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

There is no excuse ever for getting a fellow player sent off, it's happened before and it will happen again but it is a disgrace. A red card offence was not committed so the ref got it wrong, he got it wrong because of the actions of the keeper and defenders....

Thought Rafferty had a good game in midfield, as did Cavanagh until it came to finding a blue shirt. Grimes was hit and miss but all our best stuff went through him, Donnelly tried.

You didn't see me on here defending Grant mate so you can wind your bURY neck in, you should be embarrassed by that team and that display. If that how you go about your business then I genuinely feel sorry for you, worst team by a mile at Spotland this season and you are going down faster than a hooker on Hugh Grant..

A side missing Adebola and Kennedy and which had a midfield of Cavanagh, Rafferty with Grimes ahead of them for much of the game, a combination never used before. But you knew that.
