Good

They just did not learn. They came out of administration last year and again started paying wages that they could not afford. Allegedly Kitson was on £40,000 a week. Even on half of that quoted figure it was above their means.

Teams should not be allowed to keep going from one administration to another.

I find it a bit odd too that people are accusing Ben Haim of almost killing the club single-handedly for wanting his 36,000 wages he's owed. The abuse he's getting on twitter is astonishing, it's not his fault the club couldn't afford it, dont pay it if you cant honour it, would love to see 'em in the blue square in next few years, or maybe lower.

Life is a game of fate.

Just to add insult to injury, a former player (Kanu) has now lodged a claim for £3 million in 'unpaid wages and bonuses'.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/kanu-goes-to-war-with-disre

That claim will certainly kill the club once and for all. They now only have 8 professional players and are negotiating with them to reduce their salaries to give the club a chance to survive.

What are they going to pay the remainder of the squad with ?

“It is easier to fool people, than to convince them that they have been fooled”

If I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor

Their scheduled opponents would have two blank dates throughout the season, as happened with Maidstone in 1991/92.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Bit harsh to describe the players as being "the ones who got us in this mess". No, the people who offered them stupid money Pompey couldn't afford are what got the club in this mess.

Caught in two minds about it - don't really want them to go bust, but wonder if football will ever sort itself out if nobody high profile ever does.

I certainly can't see English footbal ever having the balls the Scots do to kick one of the big boys down to the basement for forming a newco.

I hope they go bust - I'm sick of over-spending clubs jumping from one administration to the next and never learning by their (and others') mistakes...

It wasn't 'Arry! He couldn't have done it, he's dislexic after all. It was his dog, that thing is a financial evil genius. I heard it took down the world economy too!
