I can't believe the question of signing Owen is even being asked.
Gambler, golfer and horse riding are the only hobbies he takes serious, unfortunately football isn't 1 of them these days.
I have lost any respect for the bloke. Done well to earn a fortune in the last 3 years. Ok you could say injury's have been a big part but more the fact he isn't interested in the game is the main aspect. He is using it to fund his addition and I can't blame him as he has got away with it, but I don't want him anywhere near from fc

It's one of those scenarios of when we would have wanted him there was not a hope in hell of him even answering the telephone to discuss such a move and now we have the means to interest him we are not interested in him.
I personally think that, like the Mental Malian and Taye Taiwo, our signings going forward may come with a loud response of "Who?" from the message boards when they are announced.
Signing Mike Rigg and being able to better utilise a world wide scouting network who will take QPR seriously will see a shift in our ability to attract new talent and we will not have to rely on the cast offs from the fringes of the other Premier League squads where we will be forced to pay over inflated transfer fees and wages to overrated has beens.
i think he will go to stoke on a pay as you play and never be seen again but will sell a few more nags to Stoke players.
Like Fowler he made a lot of money early - held it wisely and lost motivation. Hamstrings killed his pace- probably not manged well when he was younger.
Or he is the new Scouse manager.....

good heavens no....not to loftus road. no use in prem anymore. probably end up in championship. sheffield ???
Laughably he's already said he's not interested in the Championship and he thinks he is still a Premiership goalscorer!
No Michael, you had a chance 3 years ago to prove you were still a good prem goalscorer and you chose to fritter away your career on the bench at a big club...

wouldn't take him as a player now as lost pace and interest so don't think he'll actually add much but people are being a bit harsh on him for turning to other interests and losing passion for game: psychologically with his injury luck it must be incredibly tough yes i know the wages are astronomical but they don't buy you happiness, he is fully aware his career could have been 100x better without his bad luck, and it's not like he hasn't tried to work his way back time and again. i guess fair comment that last few years he's done a disservice sitting on benches and picking up wages but that now won't last much longer so again I can't be too critical on him earning what he can while he still can. Ok 'earning' perhaps the wrong word...

I feel for him a bit becuase Liverpool had over used him to such an extent by about 21 he was fckd, haven't they said pretty much the injury he got which stopped him from being a true great? Blame Houllier he is responsible for the way Owen's career has gone pete tong, look at his goalscoring record such as it is incredible. He only got 18 starts for United and got 16 goals all else was on bench so often far less chance to score. He should probably retire now but if someone offers him something from his POV, why not. Still had a career most can only dream of, played in several world cups, got alot of goals for England and is leading goalscorer in terms of "Competitive Goals" so in that respect is Englands number 1 in effect.

His game was based around pace and was also a quality goal scorer, he can still find the net but the pace isn't there anymore, wouldn't mind in a way because when he does play you could maybe expect goals, if he gets the service to him, but more often than not he'll be familiar with the physios... Would love to have seen him in hoops in his peak but we were too sh!te and completely skint during those years
