So, the World Cup in Saudi Arabia then... 16:26 - Feb 13 with 1004 views | 1885_SFC | nice sunny, t-shirt weather. Average daytime temperatures are in the high 80's Fahrenheit and mid-70's during the night in June. Chill out with a few mates in the 'fan zone' before the big game and enjoy a good chat, a good laugh, and a cold, refreshing ... ... erm... lemonade, coke or orange juice. No beer... none... zilch. Nah. Not for me thanks FIFA. No doubt you'll still make mi££ions and mi££ions out of it though. | ![](/images/avatars/1748.gif) |

So, the World Cup in Saudi Arabia then... on 18:52 - Feb 13 with 881 views | PatfromPoole | It will presumably be just like Qatar. There were plenty of bars you could drink in, mainly inside hotels. It was fine; it wasn't cheap (cheapest bar was the Red Lion in Doha, about £7 a pint), but then where is nowadays? The next World Cup probably won't be much cheaper to drink, apart from the games in Mexico possibly. I don't understand why people want to drink inside grounds, it's the sort of mentality which makes clubs build characterless gulags to serve crap beer. Just drink in the hotel bar and then make your way to the ground, and don't be a dick in the concourse areas. Simple. The press will doubtless make hay over this, as they did for both Russia and Qatar. I went to both of those World Cups, and had a great time at both. Apart from when England lost. | ![](/images/avatars/1961.gif) |

Saudi Arabia is one of the most strictest in the middle east, I would hope that they will be suspending the beheadings etc in the main square during the duration of the World Cup. It is illegal to drink alcohol in Saudi Arabia | ![](/images/avatars/1032.gif) |

Well, if nothing changes, there won’t be many travelling. But I imagine it will end up similar to Qatar. Bloody FiFA. | ![](/images/avatars/1961.gif) |

My ex in laws lived in Saudi Arabia, it is not Quatar or Dubai they are zealots, in Western terms their laws & punishment etc are medieval, they are still chopping peoples hands off for stealing and other offences and beheading people in public, they are not going to let a few hotels sell alcohol . The only time you will be on the lash is when you get 300 of them. | ![](/images/avatars/1032.gif) |

Well you have presumed wrong . There is to be NO Alcohol whatsoever . Not in any Hotel or fan zones or anywhere else it was stated today . They will NOT change for the world cup. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
So, the World Cup in Saudi Arabia then... on 04:38 - Feb 14 with 575 views | jopreston | Utter disgrace and made it clear to me that day that football is 100% corrupt and not about fans at all. Saudi in summer months gets over 50 degrees so if they play it in July, people will die. I will not be watching it, same as I did not watch a ball kicked in Qatar. So far as I am concerned, top level football (WC and PL) have gone. They are no longer sports. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) | Login to get fewer ads

It is 9 years away. Plenty of time for things to change. I will be 60 then, probably not high on my agenda at that time. I would like to do the next two World Cups though, particularly Spain / Portugal / Morocco in 2030. | ![](/images/avatars/1961.gif) |

So, the World Cup in Saudi Arabia then... on 09:46 - Feb 14 with 405 views | City_boy | Infantino is no better than Blatter. FIFA has not cleaned up its act since he came into power, and many of the reforms he promised are now being reversed to help him and many FIFA cronies. Credit to Australia for pulling out of the (corrupt) World Cup bidding process. As for World Cup being held in Saudi, there is not a chance that I would consider going to Saudi. I would like to see European countries pull out of the World Cup in Saudi. It would send a message to FIFA that it still needs to clean up and stop pandering to the likes of Qatar, Saudi and Russia. I worked with a guy that had been to the last 5 world cups, and even he is having doubts about the Saudi one. When he did Qatar, he flew in/out to the games from Dubai. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |

The issue is the distances between venues. Even the "Boston" venue which the New England Patriots ground is actually about an hour's drive from central Boston. Trying to go between even those allegedly in the same group (Vancouver, Seattle, LA) are more than a days drive apart. | ![](/images/avatars/0.gif) | | ![](/images/icons/ignore-user.png) |
