It’s depressing but Norwich and West Brom conceded nine between them today. Same as us , it won’t affect their goal difference in the championship. We move on to the next one against Plymouth . I hate going out of the Fa cup but the days of lower leauge clubs competing for the Fa cup are long gone.

Lost to decent PL teams though which I wouldn't class Leicester as. We'll be playing them again next season.
The only immediate concern is we play Plymouth next. They had a real boost winning at Brentford and no Rooney whereas we got embarrassed today. No doubt Plymouth will be more confident now facing us and our record against them leaves a lot to be desired.

Letting in 6 goals must surely affect the confidence of the defenders who played.
It depends on what the objectives were Ashby , gives Dunne a breather Edwards min with JCS (surely our first choice pairing ATM) JCS minutes after injury and tIme with Edwards Paal minutes after injury Nardi didnt concede any today

I managed to watch most of the game. Very odd. For most of first half we were the better team. Looked relaxed and confident. Then two bits of over confidence and boom boom goals on the break. Back in it and 2nd half looked like it would be fun. However the early penalty was really unlucky and that was that…numbers 3,5 and 6 were real beauties that wouldn’t happen like that in our league. Overall, a taste of what life would be like if we went up. Leicester played well because the tension was off. I think we were shocked by the way they went about things..their team was that bit more experienced than us and they had all the luck. I think it will be back to normal next time out for them and us.

I find it actually quite scary the extent to which people try to rationalise/minimise a 6-2 defeat (in a cup game we're also told beforehand the club is all in for, yes siree, the times, they are a changin' etc.) to safeguard their image of Marti's messiahdom and keep their blue and white goggles on at all costs. Apparently, confidence isn't a thing after all, the likes of Walsh, Ashby and Edwards have done their stock no harm at all, and the magnificent 5,000 travelling fans (who I would suggest are actually being placed in the role of 'useful idiots' by the club) will understand, even if Marti's a bit sad tonight.
If I were Ilias Chair, say, a guy who bleeds blue and white (and who would get my vote for the best thing at the club every day of the week), I'd be spitting feathers after today's fiasco. I'd love to know what he feels about today's team sheet.
It was a four goal deficit to a premier league team with a weakened starting lineup. Swansea was a three goal deficit to a championship team and it had no impact (quite the opposite).
I think it’ll do them good and maintain focus, hard work and humility for another half dozen championship games. It’ll also result in some managerial decisions being made around certain players that were given a start / another start today - which will be a good thing.

In the past when we have had a cup selection which was obviously disrespectful to the competition and the fans, the line up contained more than a few somewhat obscure names many never to be seen and heard of again. That wasn’t the case today. All the starting 11 are regular first team squad players..as were the subs. I think we were expecting a half hearted Leicester effort, didn’t get it, and once adjusted, gave them a run for their money. So no need to over react.

Phew! That's all right then! Changing half the team, not putting on any subs till we'd let in four or five, while telling the fans beforehand we were 100% committed doesn't come into it. Nothing to see here - silly me!
Aside from the 'concentrate on the league' thing, if we didn't get fked today we'd get fked in the next round. Whatever happens a fking was coming out way.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

We'll find out on Sat.
Be interesting how a strong Plymouth line up reacts after the celebrations today.
I'm more confident we will get a result now with players rested.
I hope you're right but I'm on the 8 am train next week and if we don't get a result after " resting" these players I will be even more livid than today

Plymouth will beat us on Saturday and will go on to finish in the play-offs while we go down. I'm certain of it. No other conclusion could reasonably be drawn from today's results.
Fair enough it was a much changed team today and Leicester actually produced Premiership finishing today not in keeping with their league displays.
Looking at the bigger picture I am troubled by the previous three away games. Against Bristol City and Norwich we created very little and we had little possession but escaped with a point. Against Swansea they took the chances we allowed them to have and it was all over in half an hour. It seems that now we are doing well at home we have lost our way on our travels with today being an example of giving away too many scoring chances ruthlessly dispatched. I might have known it was Leicester's biggest cup win in over 40 years.
I am hoping resting key players will mean a good result at Plymouth but we have been here many times before where we have sacrificed cup ties and then lost the next league game anyway. A defeat at Plymouth and then a long trek to Hull could see us slipping down the table if we lose that too. It is not the result today that worries me about Plymouth but the fact they have not won a league game since bonfire night. Sounds right up our street to change that...

If I were a betting man, I'd lump on that we'll lose to Plymouth and Leicester beat whoever they're playing next time out.
Meanwhile, I'm still wondering what MC means when he talks of 'learning' from today. That Ashby, Madsen and (for some) Saito shouldn't be anywhere near starting berths? No shit, Sherlock! That six changes to a winning, cohesive team makes about as much sense as a chocolate teapot? Check! That to actually progress in the Cup means focussing all your best players on the task in hand, (Nardi, Smyth, Frey, Dunne, Morgan - who apparently knew he was getting a rest during his post-match interview after Luton) not dropping them to the bench and flinging one or two on when we've lost the game. You don't say?
Perhaps another clever poster could enlighten us on today's lesson if I'm wrong about everything once again.

Every manager we've had in the last 30yrs has made wholesale changes to the 3rd round starting 11 to rest first teamers/give squad players minutes/focus on the league and every manager we've had in the last 30yrs has looked an utter cùnt when we lose the subsequent league game.
