Looks like it's Carlos Corberan 15:25 - Dec 19 with 3161 viewsGRIM

If the rumours are true then it looks like our new manager will be Carlos Corberan.
I personally don't know much about him apart from the fact that he's done well at WBA.
Apparently he's considering an offer that's on the table from us.
Let's get it done & look forward to some improvement from the Russell Martin era.

If true, another underwhelming appointment.

Although I guess by the law of averages one of these Championship managers is going to cut it in the PL one day.

Not for me Grim. I don't see him as that much improvement on what we have had recently. I am happy to be proved wrong but on the play offs many WBA fans were unhappy with his style and his reluctance to adapt.........sound familiar???????

If this is true its very underwhelming.

Who do you think made this comment:

"We are so slow in the build up, there is no movement and we have too many players playing as holding players only comfortable doing easy sideways passing but funnily enough they cant do that consistently. Ultimately, no chances created hence no goals, pretty obvious to the so called get it up the field supporters."

Must be a Saints fan talking about an RM side, right? Wrong. It's a WBA fan talking about Corberan. It seems he gets almost as much stick for his "patient" build up play as RM does.

Are we really going down that path again?

Just won his 2nd match in 15 league games. (albeit at a lower level) so would seem to fit our style.

A third mid-table Championship manager in a row and they expect the results to be any different?

Ankersen is stubborn and narrow-minded. There's a whole world out there to choose from, which is what successful clubs do, but, unfortunately for us, SR don't.

We all know Ankersen's management recruitment motto:

# Embrace Failure

Of course, any sane person knows if you embrace it, don't be surprised if that's what you get.

Let's just hope it's a rumour then.
But in reality what decent ambitious Manager / Coach would choose to come here under this ownership.

F*ck me they really want us to stop going don't they? because this slow play passing b*llocks is exactly the way to do that.

Sounds like West Brom fans are starting to turn against him, so he knows it's time to get out.

Lack of ideas is glaringly obvious - the players look lost and confused.

I hope I'm wrong but i can't see us being promoted this season, either automatic or through the play-offs."

Carlos Corberan will be looking for a new job unless they pick up points during a very difficult Christmas period. I think if they don't get 9 points from the next 5 games he'll be gone.

You would have thought if they were going down the compensation route again we would go for someone better.
Waste of money AGAIN.

One of the other comments I read was about the rumour that Corberan would go to Wolves. The comment was:

"I think it?s just what Wolves deserve, why should we be the only ones to be bored to death"

If my memory serves me correctly we played W B A four times last season, winning three and drawing the other game.

Was this Corberan fella their manager on all four occasions ?

If so, on that basis alone, why in the name of everything that is holy is it being suggested we have approached him ?

Honestly, the idiots at Sports Republic couldn’t run a bath or manage to get home on a dark night.

This has got to be a 'managing expectations' exercise.

Make us so depressed about Coberan coming that we're all super excited and relieved when they appoint Rohl instead.

Excellent! No to constant passing. Bring us the one they call Moyes.

The long throws and crosses into the box were a joy to behold yesterday. Is a fitter team, giving it their all, lobbing it into the box too much to ask for? Quick counter attack is our best way of getting results.
