Unless Jim and the players are able to find a way we are in for another potential bore fest. Tamworth have no obligation to entertain and following a few early season thrashings tend to set up to frustrate, a method that has brought them some success recently and which inevitably works against our slow possesion based style. To avoid the usual depressing sonario against this type of team surely Jim sees the need to start the game hard and fast and keep going forward even if we are fortunate to score early. For once I would like to see the oppostion defenders have a torrid time instead of sitting back comfortably while we pass nonchalontly around the edge of the area. I would love to be pleasantly surprised but I suppose in all honesty I am steeled for more frustration.

Yes only 7 points behind… Oldham will be up for the title so wouldn’t be bothered about them. Let’s make playoffs and see what we can do. Up the Dale !! I’ll be watching in hull so can’t get behind the lads at the stadium but I’m with them spiritually

Another home game on Saturday too... by the time we play Oldham we will probably be above them anyway.

Absolutely Up the Dale.

As I’ve said the difference between finances of us compared to the likes of Oldham York and fgr is magnificent. I’ll happily settle for the playoffs. Can’t see us finishing above them but you never know with the mighty Dale. As you said another home game Saturday to put things right

Well yeah, our owners are considerably richer than Oldham’s. It’s just we do things right and don’t chuck silly money at players.

Yeah exactly. A reason we are sat 9th in the league and behind them… working well for us isn’t it…

As Rochdale fans we don’t expect us to overspend. It’s about doing things sustainably and calling out the club when it’s not run properly. Something that has been consistent over the years.

Something they failed miserably at over at Oldham.

Where to?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Good point that.

Taken from wiki - “The club was forced into administration in October 2003”

Another in a long line of clubs that cheated and a set of fans who had their bellies tickled and had no regard for the hundreds of businesses they ripped off.

Definitely not true that. They can afford too also because they have more revenue

“Bellies tickled “ my mate told me that the reason they went along with it is because they felt they deserved to have a lot of money spent after being a big club

Continually changing players who all pretty much do the same thing makes less and less sense.

The rumours at the time about them cheating to get to the Premier League also rings a bell. Not only did they have an unfair advantage with that pathetic plastic pitch, but apparently lots of brown envelopes were being passed around. That penalty that won them promotion is a classic example.

Bent club.

Is it a consequence of signing a few players who play in roughly the same position and having to keep them (and their parent clubs) happy?

I wouldn’t mind if it was us to be fair. Reaching that level and playing with the world greats is nothing to be ashamed of. weren’t they founding members of the premier league ( highest division in English football) anyway onto tonight’s game …

Which is poor recruitment. The amount of injuries we have makes it worse.

Knocking the ball around well. Hogan looks shaky though. Should win this.

The Premier League was set up with them as one of the founder members.

Ian Stott was their chairman and once they got relegated and the finances dried up started talking of merging with Rochdale and Bury.

But you have recorded £7m of accumulated losses since the shed builder takeover. Heavens knows what the playing budget is given you have higher income than Dale. It will all end in tears when Frankie runs out of cash.
