'Martin Out' fans are clueless! 19:32 - Sep 23 with 19396 views | Ljames93 | Anyone that wants Martin out needs their head checked. - We're playing in the best league in the world. Any newly promoted team is likely to get relegated, it's a fact. Teams tipped to come 15th/16th such as Forest have a front four of Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi and Wood. - 7 of our 11 against Ipswich were considered new signings or at least new to our first team (Dibling). Again, newly promoted teams will always have more changed/disruptions to their squad. Relationships and understandings on the pitch take time, it doesn't happen after a game or two. Martin gave us so much joy last season and staying up this season is going to be tough regardless of A) The style of Play B) The manager we have. I personally think gradually adapting our style of play like we've done (Look at Ramsdale going long far more frequently than McCarthy against Newcastle), as well as quickly working out our best 11 will give us the best possible shot of staying up, which includes having RM at the helm. The grass isn't always greener, we witnessed that last time we got relegated. You need to wake up and acknowledge how hard this league is! [Post edited 23 Sep 20:13]

There will still be a bunch similar to Monsieur James that think RM is some sort of fcuking messiah. These noddy’s generally are the younger, Social Media brigade that quote inane, pointless stats such as xG etc., and use hideous terminology such as ‘RussBall’. I despair at times, really I do wonder when our fanbase became so lost. [Post edited 30 Sep 22:02]

Anyone with half a brain could see what was going to happen this season. Sadly the middle class wools formed a cult around him like they did with Ralph. The owners need to make a point now and sack him. He’s not even close to good enough and we’ll beat derbies points record if he stays

It’s the nicely nicely gentrified football the right way b*llocks that’s got us into this mess. People liked Ralph was beyond his sell by date, hated jones, then liked selles cause he wore turtlenecks (even though he was worse than jones). Now we see the same thing with martin, loads for people saying “I like martin” followed by a list of reasons he’s inept at his job. I wish we had a bit more arsehole about us to be honest and sacked people who clearly aren’t up to it, instead of placating a bunch of nerds who think we should play like Barcelona instead of just bloody winning games | | | | Login to get fewer ads

I agree, but it isn’t class. The Selles and Russell pass ball love in is solely down to social media saddos / Post-soccer AM statistic-hugging propagandists. They don’t have opinions of their own outside of the Guardiola Football Manager players who wish to show off they know what the “gegenpress” or whatever is. They can’t admit what they’re watching is terrible compared to a typic British manager (or managers who look less presentable) because they act more cult-ish-ly continental.

It’s a results based business. Hasenhüttl, Jones and Selles all got sacked (Selles let go) because of results.
| We thought that we had the answers,
It was the questions we had wrong. |

'Martin Out' fans are clueless! on 11:14 - Oct 1 with 1680 views | franniesTache | One thing i can't get my head round is why people keep saying "I like Martin", i mean can anyone explain why so many people say they like Martin? Seriously all i see is people saying "i like Martin but..." followed by a list of his failings. The bloke struggled to get us promoted, and arguably only did so because he changed his style of play which was the thing that held us back. He has then started the season with a nigh on suicidal system that has seen us ship goals and create nothing, then blamed the players/himself and ignored what needs to be fixed (which is obvious to everyone). He's also shown complete arrogance in refusing to adapt, and changes his team every week so there's no consistency. So what the hell is it people like? Because at this point in time i'm starting to thing the only thing it can be is "the idea of his football", as there's pretty much nothing else there to enjoy than some conceptual philosophy.
'Martin Out' fans are clueless! on 11:18 - Oct 1 with 1650 views | UTS1885 | Im disillusioned with the way Martin is totally naive in remaining with a tactical approach that all opposing teams will know about and train for in the week before the game. Last night after the line up farce and seeing nothing from the players, im now leaning towards getting rid of him. Its also worth mentioning that Martin has drawn swords with the local media, last season with Adam Blackmore and last night he was jousting with Daily Echo Alfie house. [Post edited 1 Oct 13:01]

I've been saying he's a dud since he got here so I've ended up debating(?) it with a few RM supporters. The sense I get is that they think RM represents the trendy things about football, the kind of football that pundits call "good" (God knows why because it's sh1t). It's also about what they don't want which is a traditional "dinosaur" manager who plays direct football. It's almost like they're frightened of being seen as old fashioned. They seem to think that it's a simple choice between these 2 options which of course it isn't. Just as one example, Bournemouth play nothing like either of those options.

It's bullsh*t hipster b*llocks, of course i'd like to see us play fluid passing football where we cut through teams and looked like prime total football Holland. But we don't have the players and aren't good enough, so how about just trying to win games and changing things up depending on who we're playing. As Shankly once said "Football is a simple game made complicated by people who should know better"

Cringe central last night. Rusty did his usual attention seeking strut across the pitch towards our fans before kick off, to be greeted with choruses of that "woke up this morning feeling fine etc etc...." ditty. He lapped it up as did the mongs singing it, as they do with any manager that acknowledges their existence. A wave and a fist pump here and there equates to being a great guy.

'Martin Out' fans are clueless! on 12:02 - Oct 1 with 1571 views | PaleRider | It's worth bearing in mind the following: 1 November 2022 Unai Emery starts as Villa manager 10 November 2022 Nathan Jones starts as Saints manager! I said last season that I thought that we would be in trouble with RM as manager in the Premier League and frankly nothing has changed! Saints got lucky last year and, although people quote the 25 game unbeaten run, there were some awful games/results to balance this out. I'm afraid he's as much of a charlatan as Jones. The issue is that Kraft and Ankerson think they're "smarter than the average bear" and are playing at being clever with someone else's money (Solak), which is always easy. I worry that they will not want to hire a manager who can challenge them and much as I want rid of RM, I do worry who the replacement would be. BTW - those fans who want Martin out seem to be backed up by facts, those that don't are back up by God knows what.

I like him because we saw lots of wins last season, including at Wembley. I also felt that we were improving this season and had been pretty unlucky in terms of some of the results. I don't particularly like the 'idea of his football'. I really couldn't care less how we win or how we score goals. Biggest issue for me is not Martin thought, it's Armstrong, Stewart, Diaz and Cornet as PL strikers. Still got hopes for Archer and bemused that he didn't start yesterday.

It's probably because he comes across as a "nice bloke", and the social media shite which is often hoisted on by us by the Club puts him across as one of the lads, and just a general good egg. The likes of Saint Rob fawning over him because he did a tactics thing for the fans last year (still can't believe he did that) and referring to him as "Russ" as if he is his mate sadly just reinforce the cult of Martin. Doing that thing before the start of the game of walking over to our away fans is all part of his attempt to avoid getting a caning from the fans when it all turns to ratshit. Which it already has. People are stupid and fall for it hook, line and sinker.

Russel Martin looked lost on the touch line against Bournemouth, he didn't have a clue what to do, why is Walker Peters on the bench? A Armstrong might not be the best premier league striker but even he would be in the right place to score a couple of times in a match, that's if we could actually get the ball out of our own penalty area or half.
