The Give Russell a chance thread 08:54 - Sep 5 with 10210 views | Butty101 | Im a bit surprised how quickly the pitch folk mob is assembling. Its 3 games into the season ffs. Im not a big fan and was critical at times last season of the tippy tappy stuff. However he turned it round last season so trust the process :-) In his interview after the Brentford game, he was quite clear that he wanted to give the players who got us up a go. However its not worked and changes will be made. We have 2 weeks to prep for a poor man u . i can see a 2-1 win for us and lift off

Don’t believe RM is coaching our players to ‘fail’ per se, but to continue with the same approach is madness. Surely good managers can ‘adapt’ and that will determine if Rylan is still in a job over the next few months.

No doubt there will be some who say that Big Sam is a dinosaur who doesn't understand the latest trendy thing that Pep has just invented, but he is no fool. He knows a thing or 2 about how to keep a struggling club in the PL and how not to give away stupid goals. As he says in the full video "Man City can play it all day because they're great at it" but other sides should realise that there is more than one way to play. Indeed. Interesting that he is directly critical of RM. You don't often hear that with fellow managers. Obviously something he feels strongly about.

What’s the thinking that if Big Sam had of been in charge for the Forest game etc., that we might have garnered more points?!?

Big Sam's last two jobs were West Brom and Leeds and he failed to inspire any sort of revival and both clubs were relegated from the Premier league. Likeable dinosaur. Times change.

I'd give Martin until the end of this month unless he changes tactics dramatically, but as far as I know he has made no indication whatsoever that he is willing to adapt. Please tell me I'm wrong on that last point...

Allardyce Is a Kunt of the highest order. Never forget. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/37483344 Sam Allardyce has left his post as England manager by mutual agreement with the Football Association after one match and 67 days in charge. It follows a newspaper investigation claiming he offered advice on how to "get around" rules on player transfers. Allardyce is also alleged to have used his role to negotiate a deal worth £400,000 to represent a Far East firm.
| We thought that we had the answers,
It was the questions we had wrong. |

The Give Russell a chance thread on 16:41 - Sep 13 with 637 views | Andylad63 | The thing SA, RM and most of the Players have in common is the fear of doing something wrong which will mean losing. Whether that be playing 7 at the back and using the long ball to a bully of a centre forward, refusing to hump the ball into row ZZ but to try and play "simple" passes to a team mate who may or may not be marked, or being to scared to make that dribble or pass to create a match winning situation. Charlie Alcaras had that bravery and that got him loaned then sold... We Saints fans have always loved being the underdog and would rather lose 5-4 trying to win that 1/2/3 nil trying not to lose, IMHO.
