Yes, it seems that lots of young people are walking around with weapons and knives. Law and disorder has completely broken down. The harsh sentences have worked to stop the rioting. There is a lesson there in what to do about all this disorder, in particularly knife and gun crime. Stop the wishy washy excuse culture and get tough. These gangs roam freely, have weekly chats with social workers and just carry on. They need to get tough with them, stop and search and take control.

Unfortunately it is not a new problem.

I can just about remember the Teddy Boy gangs and after that Mods and Rockers.

Going back in history there were razor gangs and those carrying chains and hammers.

However these were all lads of around 17 upwards whereas now kids. some just out of primary school seem to be walking around with a variety of weapons such as Zombie knives.

The sale of drugs is also on a scale never seen before and this adds to the problem.

Yes, drugs is a massive problem and fuelling lots of problems. But just imagine, just like the rioters, if the government gave these kids a 5 year sentence for carrying knives and weapons amd stopped pussy footing around and just dealt with them. I bet the problem, would stop over night, just like all the riots stopped, the moment they realised they would be dealt with.

There's nowhere to put them. The last government closed 7 prisons. It's going to cost a fortune now to reopen them or build new ones. It's one of the reasons law and order is breaking down; another being the poor state of policing, which means that more than 90% of crimes committed in this country go unpunished. Young kids today are aware that they can get away with committing minor crimes as many times as they like.

You're right, but they need to deal with it. If they can spend 400 billion on covid, just like that, surely they can do something to bring this under control. Plus, they said there was no prison places, but have suddenly found space for the rioters. And they need to start earlier and toughen up in schools, instead of all the excuses for disgusting behaviour.
