Was in Australia last week covering the Women's World Cup. I'm sure I hear him commentating on a Premier League game on MOD last Saturday. Now he's back in Australia commentating on the semi-final.

Nice to see the BBC looking after the environment.

He could have commented on a Premier League game from a studio.

Not that I know that he did!

It’s ok, he’s been going back and forth on a little robot.

Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?

Was he the only one on a specially chartered plane or were the flights scheduled ones going anyway but with an empty seat (or two in his case) if he had not been on them?

I'd be astonished if one of these gigs isn't being done from a studio.

I watch neither the Womans world cup or MOTD.

I still have to pay £159 per year for a TV Licence.

His co commentator, Sue Smith, was in the Sky studios yesterday.

I’d say they’re in a studio in Blighty.

Almost all of the Commentary on both ITV and BBC is being done over here from studios.
I think the semi final tomorrow is Jaqui Oakley who is out there

They sent over all 3 presenters on todays semi final between Spain and Sweden.Gabby Logan was talking about the jet lag getting to Sydney. And no doubt they travelled in the front of the plane rather than economy.
Who said the bbc are cutting costs?

That was always the plan if England got to the semi finals they would send people out there.

When he and tony gale were commentating on a game for capital radio, Swiss player Bernt Haas was playing. They were like two giggling schoolboys. Tony Gale said “he must have been out for a curry last night”.

In association with Tenant's Pilsner, brewed with Czechoslavkian yeast for that real Pilsner taste...

How many time did he have to repeat that per game?

Apparently, his radio commentary of the Michael Thomas goal in '89 was something like

"And Lukic kicks the ball out, high up into the crimson sky, here at Anfield, on this historic night........and it's a goal!"

"The opposite of love, after all, is not hate, but indifference."

I always get the impression he's a scum fan.

Remember him as a screamer on Capital Gold sport.

You must have not had the pleasure of NBC lead commentator in the USA Peter Drury who literally screams the name of every shooter once he unloads the ball. Its the most frustrating thing as most of the time the ball ends up in the stands but even if he scores its annoying.
Arlo White was fine but he left for LIV golf surprisingly money I guess .
We do have a back up in Jon Champion who I think I can handle .

What gets me is how many things he calls completely wrong on live commentary. I'm sure he must have to re-record a lot of his comms for MOTD after the match. Quite amazing simple wrong calls as well.
