More recently, Boxing Day derbies have been avoided due to clubs wanting the larger crowds away from the festive period when they get larger crowds anyway.
In some cases, it's unavoidable, though, such as when the Premier League has so many London clubs, it's inevitable there might be a London derby or two in there.
