I wonder if the opposing managers of two rival clubs have ever fought bare-chested in a town square before.

The bout would indeed be billed as moob-on-moob.

I know this happens all the time but how on earth can there be such a huge difference in form on his first day in charge?

I know. Clive said he saw their game against Reading and it was like watching a pub team.

A mixture of things, a fresh start I guess when the new guy comes in, Pearson has a track record of knowing what he's doing, and maybe arranging players in a way that's different, and perhaps more suited in their minds can help.

There's no doubt that there are better managers and coaches than others and I think it comes in different ways, whatever else, Pearson has proven himself very competent and knows his way round a Championship club and how to get things working in the right direction.

Walking my son to school this morning, we stood on the kerb waiting for a break in the traffic. A car stops, the driver makes an 'After-you' gesture, so we step into the road, and we both give the driver a smile, a wave of acknowledgment, and a thumbs-up (old school). The driver responds with a big thumbs-up of his own and a smile... and it's only Nigel fu cking Pearson in a City tracksuit, in a Lexus with NPxxxx number plates, on his way to Ashton Gate.

So, there you have it; Nigel Pearson; he might be a bit of a loose cannon, but what a gentleman.

Fulham FC: It's the taking part that counts

You sure it wasn't Nincom Poop? they're very similar in facial features.

Troy Deeney apologised to me after having to check something in the boot of his Lamborghini whilst sitting in traffic on Sunday.

That's great to hear. I know he can be a bit of a pilchard at times, but I quite like Troy Deeney. Is it co-incidence that he played under Pearson at Watford?

Has anyone else got any other life-affirming tales of courteous traffic behaviour from footballers or managers? Perhaps Johnny Metgod once let you out at a junction?

Steve Perryman once handed me The Peal Shield at Ealing Northern Sports Centre. It's a football thing. Coincidentally, many years later I bought some Puma trainers from his sports shop in Hayes and he said I was very kind.

Sorry - no cars in he above.

Ricky Villa once ran over my Great Grandmother. He didn't have a car, though.
