If Villa are relegated 15:41 - Dec 8 with 13195 viewsWrightUp5hit___

Are they going to be in deep doo doo, with regard to non compliance with FFP over the three seasons culminating in their promotion?

Will we be held responsible and have to pay their fine?

Its true Briatore said it when he took over, but not sure it was ever part of teh Four Year plan Documentary.

It certainl was laughable when you look at what a joke Briatore was at running anything, and in many ways am amazed he ever ran a successful business in any walk of life - but he did.

He was also thought well of in F1 at one time I think, but again made a mess of things.

His business model of selling jumpers with the Benetton label and telling everyone that they were getting luxury items did not transfer very well to football.

Oh yes, Boutique football and the chance to mingle (if you could afford it) with Naomi Campbell and friends..... who was the one one? Tamera Beckwith???

Cannot wait for the episode of Dean Smith's Justice League after they've been relegated, with Captain Jack jumping ship before they sink.

That current bottom three has a doomed look to me.

Interesting that after the first game back everyone was saying how fit Palace looked - they have gone on to lose 4 on the bounce. Others saying Spuds in crisis but they have lost one and drawn one of the post lockdown games- more that Jose has bored everyone to tears.

I used to like Villa - they had no Zulus, great away trip and there was once a brilliant piece written by a Villa fan (Tony Elms( about being a Villa fan in a book of collected writings by various fans.

But they employed a proven racist, made him captain and then made him assistant manager.

I have no respect for them right now. They can not get relegated enough this season. Once will not do me.

He's just so fcking shameless.

I would think, and as we know I know nothing about it, it's the exact opposite of what you want in a manager isn't it? Isn't a 'no excuses culture' what you're going for? You want your players to take responsibility for themselves and the team, to be brave and decisive, not to always be blaming this referee or that injustice or the other, coming off defeats thinking they're ok because some weird and wonderful stat says actually you should have won.

Before we get to expected goals and VAR and referees maybe ask why he's spent £100m on players and Villa are no better than they were 12 months ago in the Championship.

Maybe ask why Jack Grealish is still being indulged and allowed to ponse about 60 yards away from the goal where he can't hurt teams, allowing sides to deliberately trip him up in neutral positions limiting his affect - Smith has been bitching and moaning about referees protecting him more for literally two years now, park him on the edge of the box and they can't do it can they? Somebody else's fault again.

I'll never forget that 2-2 at ours. Dominates the whole game, 2-0 up, still slinging strikers and attacking midfielders on ten minutes from time, concede twice in injury time and come out afterwards basically blaming QPR for pumping it up to Matt Smith, like it's somehow cheating and not allowed. Another one he laid squarely at the referee's feet if I recall correctly.

I like a lot of his philosophy and how his teams play but my god he drives me up the bloody wall.

Smith, who is like every Villa fan I've ever met, encapsulates my general antipathy to them. Pss and moan and whinge endlessly while being ludicrously defensive about any reasonable criticism. Also know fck all about the wider game outside their delusional big club bubble. Brum are nastier cnts but at least they're down to earth, so pick your poison it's all the same really.

(I appreciate pre Taylor Report impressions will be very different though.)

So far the only times I've really felt Warbs sliding into it was Cardiff away when he insisted a 3-0 defeat with 70% of the ball was actually not such a bad thing because we were doing the right things. I guess he'd tell you we subsequently beat the same team 6-1 playing the same way. And on Wednesday, when he seems to think we were one Ilias Chair miss away from a glorious and deserved victory.

It’s a recent thing with me , stemming back to our recent premier league duels where from what I can remember we have played them off the park every time we have played them but somehow ended up losing or drawing , a certain 3 -2 loss at their place when we should have been 4 up by half time still p!sses me off far more than acceptable for any sane person !

And didn’t the c@nts let us know all about the score outside the ground. As you say we should’ve been out of sight by ht,but their keeper made some vital saves.
Horrible fans, crap song in holte Enders in the sky, racist coach and boring, whinging b@stard manager.Whats not to dislike?
Hope they get relegated again next season.

Has anything, ever been Dean Smith's fault? All United's goals last night were dodgy penalties were they? Fcking whinging bstrd.

OK Dean, here's a deal for you. We chalk off the United penalty that wasn't a pen, but we then award Sheffield United the goal they scored against you that was clearly over the line. How do you like them apples?

Fair enough they're not identical but I kinda have him, Smith and Howe in the same box at this point really. Commendable ideals, questionable structure underneath, obstinacy dissimulated to varying degrees but obstinacy nonetheless.

The Ilias thing has been a running contradiction all season whether he's calling them out by name or not. If it's his sincere belief we're always just a miss or slip away then fundamentally it's a Keegan level understanding of control in a football game.

He was asked after that match whether he'd considered letting Sheff Utd have a walk in goal after half time and actually laughed, banged on about how often they've been cheated by VAR, said never in a month of Sundays.

Meanwhile, millions of years ago, in a different dimension, with a completely different Aston Villa manager...

Smith is a minge.

*We deserved to win that game* No you didn't like everyone else you have 90 minutes + to win a game and you didn't/couldn't.
*We should have got something from that game* No you shouldn't, like everyone else you have 90 minutes + to have got something from that game and you didn't/couldn't.
*Their fifth goal was never a penalty* Yes it was because the referee said it was.
* I've asked John Terry three times to move his Mum's caravan from the players car park* Phew, good luck with that.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

To be fair, and i hate to be fair where anything concerned with Willa is being talked about, but there are plenty on here that say 'we should have won it' etc, and dont seem to grasp that scoring goals wins matches, and then scoring more than the opposition.

Its a simple game really, should, could and might dont win matches.

My "dislike" goes back to 1968 when the Birmingham police started hitting us with battons to stop us entering the pitch to celebrate our first promotion to the top division. On the same day Manchester City became First division champions & the Newcastle police invited their fans onto the pitch!

Go forward to'69 & Mr. Thomas Docherty entered the scene & we were back at Villa Park for the third round of the FA Cup. There were a lot less than the 18,000 Rangers fans that were there in May present & Villa fans thought it would be fun to reclaim the Holte End!

At this time Villa detested us more than they did Birmingham & we reciprocated that. There was also a fall out in the 76/77 League Cup semi final.

Normal service was soon restored after that, but to this day I've not wished them well!

Sorry, Terry, you're genuinely one of my favourite posters on here but I just wanted to ask you again about that FA Cup game. I'd never heard about it before.

Admittedly I wasn't born till a year after and clearly might have missed something but surely if we were in their end then we started that violence, no? Sorry my man, I've never understood violence at football.

Right Loftboy, but Terry spoke about retaking, which suggested to me that we tried to take it, suggesting violence.

By retaking the Holte End was a reference to that end being full of Rangers supporters in May 1968.

We outnumbered them quite considerably & so they slid away. In January 1969 they arrived in their masses & attacked any Rangers fan in the end.

After they appointed Docherty as manager (following his 28 days at Rangers) there crowds increased from aspprox 15,000 to over 30,000.

I've never hit anyone at football Brian, although I did come close a few times. The only time I didn't manage to avoid being hit was at Middlesbrough in 1972!
