Whilst I am aware there are many who may not share my view, and I, for one, would fully understand - and indeed respect it unconditionally, I must administer my admiration for John Bercow`s profound articulateness - albeit bordering on a verbose loquaciousness - and, may I say, edging disconcertingly toward a slight pomposity of style, which , nonetheless, makes for a very entertaining and immensely watchable spectacle - as he is a a veritable master of the subordinate clause, or for that matter, any clause you care to mention. Order! Ordure...

Innit just, bro.

He’s certainly a quirky character.

A bit thespian in his way.

I've never heard of him!!

The Common Market 2 sounds quite good, staying in the economic area but getting out of the political system.

What do you think?

What is going on in the Commons this evening?

If you are just joining us, MPs are this evening trying to decide which Brexit options they favour.

The votes are non-binding but are intended as a way to find a strategy that can gain majority support.

These are the four [of eight] options they are considering today, as selected by Speaker John Bercow:

Motion C: Customs union
Motion D: 'Common market 2.0'
Motion E: confirmatory public vote
Motion G: parliamentary supremacy

Conservative MPs have been given a free vote on the motions which means they won't be told by party bosses which way to go.

The cabinet has been told to abstain.

Earlier, Labour MPs were urged to back Motion D, which has been described a plan to keep the UK in a Norway-style relationship with the EU.

‘Where there is harmony, may we bring discord. Where there is truth, may we bring error. Where there is faith, may we bring doubt. And where there is hope, may we bring despair’

No surprise, still too many options were put forward. On to Wednesday now, and another (final round) of voting. I'm guessing there will be 2 options, Clarke/Benn Customs Union, and the Kyle/Wilson 2nd ref to confirm any deal made by Parliament.

Once again, SNP, LibDems, Greens and Change UK (formally the Tiggers) either voted against or abstained on the CU.

They're getting closer to a solution though. May needs to give up on her deal. Talk about flogging a dead horse and.... word to the wise Theresa.... if you want to stop your deal being blocked by Bercow for looking "substantially similar" to previous defeated votes....

...for starters, stop naming them MV1, MV2, MV3 etc FFS dozy mare

We'll know by tomorrow or Thursday whether there really is a solution that we can live with. Whether the EU will is a completely different question.

The whole process has been back to front.

So fireside talk with JC, if can't agree common ground, then a series of indicative votes, which are happening at the moment.

Wonder if any ministers will quit over this? Comfy ministerial cars often trumps principals

I still think that her deal, or something very like it, has a chance. Tomorrow and Thursday are going to be interesting.

BRR... Welcome back.

The WA will pass (it always was in some form). It's the addons on the Political Deceleration that is the problem. Think the WA, PD + Custom Union will pass, with something added to ensure that the future PM (untill/if a election) is bound to that in the next stage of negotiations. (The really important bit of this whole process).

BBTRR

I think that is a sound analysis. It will rupture the Conservative Party, but that may be no bad thing in the long run.

I love the idea of a Political Deceleration, btw. Sometimes predictive text borders on genius.

And thank you for the welcoming words. I had stayed away for the good of the board, but that doesn't seem to be such an issue at the moment.

The problem with the Tories is that while the ERG gets the headlines, it's the local constituency parties that the real headache for them.

Some MPs already facing deselection, as more ex UKIP members returned over the last 12/18 months. It will now get worse.

PS I'm so impressed by it I'm going to leave it in the crease so to speak.

We are now entering a phase of three dimensional chess, played in an bizarre ideological distortion of reality, within a sealed bubble political wonderland, whereby everything is the opposite of what went before, and the objective of the game is to keep as many plates spinning at the same time, whilst denying publically that there are any plates at all.

For May and Corbyn, I fear the fate of the country is possibly not the plate of utmost importance at the moment..

Whilst acknowledging the very good sense in wagering a hard earned tenner on the visionary political colossus that is Christopher Grayling, I feel that Mark Francois may be the dark pygmy pony come the bun fight...
