Who made the decision? 17:15 - Mar 2 with 6990 viewsborntogo

As supporters I think we've every right to ask this question and receive an answer from the club - who made the decision to give Keith Hill a five-year contract?

Almost all decisions emanate from a single person, whether accredited to 'the board' or 'the club' etc. So, who was it?

It is the single worst decision made in the last 20 years of Rochdale AFC. It has left us unable to afford to sack him while meaning we suffer a hemorrhage of fans and finances due to his shocking player acquisition, tactics and man-management.

Who knows the long-term damage.

Irrelevant who made the decision.

Yes about he Club he supports, and presumably the team he has watched lots of times. Got every right to ask the question he has asked.

So it doesn't matter who is running the club and what they may or may not do in the future?

Everything to do with a football club or any business or organisation stems from above and filters down. It is essential they are accountable.

No, to try and understand what has gone on and make sure it doesn't happen again.

Did anyone ask the question at the time ? It's only 'become relevant' because of recent form. No interest in the question until the going gets tough.

No matter who it was, you can't do anything about it.

What if someone says 'It was me'. What happens then ? What action do you take ?

Genuine question to the Hill lovers, what is your man doing at the moment to maintain your manlove? His weird team selections continue and the slump deepens.

The reaction on here/Twitter/around the ground at the time made it pretty clear what the general consensus was.

Really don’t think creating issues amongst ourselves is going to help. I totally appreciate this works both ways.

The subject is valid but it could be asked in a different way. Just an opinion of course.

Very few post on Twitter, or really on here, and there were plenty around where I sit, and amongst others I know who questioned the decision, but most were happy to keep quiet and trust the Club.

Any man who walks out on a club should never be allowed back regardless of how successful he has been in the past as he has shown no loyalty. The fact that he is now prepared to put the club in to league 2 for the sake of money proves his lack of loyalty. To him, it's just a job. To us, it's our club where we were before Hill came and we will still be after he goes.

You said you weren’t renewing your season ticket (the one that gives you your exclusive seat) last week. Make your mind up.

Any man that wouldn’t take the opportunity to better himself and take a challenge would be an idiot. Like you say, it’s just a job to him, loyalty doesn’t come into it.
I remember at the time of the news of his five year contract was announced, there was a forum very soon after which Hill attended and was greeted with pretty much with unanimous applause, it seemed to me a decent deal for both parties at the time, but a lot of my mates and other people I know had deep reservations and reckoned it was a massive gamble that could easily go tits up.
As others have said, it’s pretty irrelevant who made the decision.

To be still banging that 'disloyal' drum after all these years is ridiculous. It was pathetic at the time, it's even worse to rake it all up, just to beat him with it again.

Other than the contract being 5 years and he may or not get a cut of transfer deals. Apart from the ITKers do any of us know the full ins and outs of the deal? Surely the contract negotiations were not all one sided. I wouldn't be surprised if the target is 20th or above in league 1 come the end of each season. As we have not reached the end of the season perhaps this is one of the reasons why the board are sticking with KH.
