Deserve it to be fair. Never a penalty and they've had countless chances, been an entertaining cup tie.

Portsmouth on 21:15 - Nov 12 by D_Alien | I think it'll be a different type of game from when we played them with 3pts at stake In their position, getting promoted has got to be the priority and whilst they're clearly a good side they won't want a replay and it could actually be very open and entertaining They might even rest Pitman... |
Or we could try marking him out of the game?

He’s been rested for the last month or so, can see him starting this one.

Portsmouth on 20:59 - Nov 12 by dingdangblue | We've put in some really good performances at home most recently which gives me hope - I'm glad we are at home and it's the cup so league position goes out the window. |

Hopefully McGahey will play instead of McNulty who missed the League game and Alby can come on late as sub and get another worldy? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Portsmouth on 17:37 - Nov 13 with 2150 views | aleanddale | Millwall away last season was a tough ask. We did better than ok against them and we can do the same this season v a good Pompey side. lets bring our A game and make sure Portsmouth know they have been in a game. We can do this I am looking forward to the test!. Up the Dale.
Portsmouth on 18:34 - Nov 13 with 2100 views | dalian | It's a great draw, in my opinion...very much looking forward to a rematch with Pompey. Really glad of a home draw and a good test, albeit a tough one. They were a decent outfit when they visited us earlier in the season and deserved their win but there wasn't the huge gulf in class that some seem to be suggesting...if it wasn't for one piece of opportunism by the excellent Pitman then it would likely have finished one apiece. I didn't think they were as impressive as Barnsley or Peterborough. They will certainly know they got a tough draw and I fully expect (and hope) they send a full side up here if they have any aspirations of a place in the third round draw. Pitman included. He is worth the entrance fee alone- a terrific player who our lads can only benefit from learning playing against. It would be great to see if McGahey can get the better of him this time! Our form has gradually been improving since then, bar one or two blips, and this game could really be a platform to push on to greater heights this season. Saturday's atmosphere was flat barring the Gateshead fans...hopefully this game will get us going a bit more.

Good point, what would be the tipping point price wise. £10 seated £5 standing £1 kids any stand?

Same price structure as Gateshead please! That should get the home crowd to around 2750 Less than 3500 for this one - despite not being on television. We can all have two seats each again!

It wouldn't be packed if it was super cheap. The town just won't support the football team unless it's against a 'big' team.

So £2 Adults and £1 for Kids wouldn't see a packed house then? I know they are not a Premier League team in the Champions League but Portsmouth are a fairly big club

Looking at the economics of £2/adult (your suggestion) versus £12/adult (Gateshead), you'd need to sell 6 times as many tickets to break even. Not going to happen. For clues as to what could happen I suppose you could look up what JM did at Bratfud to see if he has history. I suspect prices won't change for this one though - same as Gateshead?

No. They are also a League One club. There’s a minimum admission price for each round as well. No idea what it is but it will be at least a tenner.

Aye, but they are a fellow League One club in a fairly unattractive FA Cup tie.

Depends on what spin is put on the tie. Just looked it up and you're right minimum £10 entry fee
